Admission to 3-Year LL.B. Program, 2026

The DSNLU Entrance Test (DET) is an offline examination for admission to the 3-Year LLB program at Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Vishakhapatnam, featuring 100 MCQs with no negative marking. The exam covers General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Legal Aptitude.

DSNLU introduced Three-Year LL.B. program from the Academic Year 2024-25. The Three-Year LL.B. is offered to candidates across India. Three Year LL.B. students are required to complete 144 credits. The admission to Three Year LL.B. Course of the University is based on all India Entrance Examination, conducted by the University following the reservation policy of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The Date of the DET is 28/06/2026

Eligibility:
Candidates have to clear the Entrance Test conducted by DSNLU(DET) complying with all the eligibility criteria.

The Candidates for 3 year LL.B. should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) from a recognized University or any other degree recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned with 45% of aggregate marks for general category, 42% for BC category and 40% for SC/ST. If any candidate secured less than 45%, 42% and 40% respectively in graduation as stated above, he / she should have secured same percentage or more on the aggregate in any additional graduation or Post Graduation.

Note: The percentage of 44.5% and above in aggregate in graduation (10+2+3 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to general categories, 41.5% or above in aggregate in graduation (10+2+3 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to BC category and 39.5% and above in aggregate in graduation (10+2+3 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be considered as 45%, 42% and 40% of aggregate marks respectively for admission into LL.B. 3 year course.
Intake:
Three Year LL.B. - 60 seats + 06 supernumerary Seats* (Total– 66 seats).

5% Horizontal reservation shall be applicable for Specially Abled Persons (SAP) All India
2% Horizontal reservation shall be applicable for Children of Armed Personnel (CAP) of Andhra Pradesh
1% Horizontal reservation shall be applicable for National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Andhra Pradesh
0.5% Horizontal reservation shall be applicable for Eminent Sports Persons of Andhra Pradesh
33.33% Horizontal reservation shall be applicable for Women of Andhra Pradesh
10% extra seats under EWS as per GO Ms. No.60 dated 27.07.2019 of Backward Classes Welfare (F) Department, Govt. of A.P./G.O.Ms. No.39 dated 30.07.2019 of Higher Education (E.C) Department, Govt. of A.P./UGC letter No.F.81-1/2019 (CU) Vol-II dated 04.10.2019/ BCI Order dated 29.07.2019
EWS Admissions shall be as per the Government norms and MHRD Dept. of Higher Education, GOI, Letter No.12-4/2019-U1, dated 17.01.2019
AP SC Admissions shall be as per the G.O MS No. 7/2025 (The Andhra Pradesh Schedule Castes(Sub-Classifications) Ordinance No 2/2025).

In addition to the above Fee, Mess charges are as per the agreement with the service provider and may be fixed by the authorities from time to time.

Note:

For Three-year LL.B., the fee for Foreign Citizens / Non-Resident Indian candidates is fixed at Rs. 3,00,000/- (Rupees three lakhs only) per annum.
Tuition fee is increased by 10% (per year) in every prospective Academic-Year of the course.

DSNLU Entrance Test (DET, VIZAG)

The Date of the DET is 28/06/2026. Candidate intending to apply for DSNLU shall fill the Application form (uploaded in the DSNLU website). Candidates are expected to read the admission criteria and other Regulations of the University before applying for DET.
Venue for DET will be DSNLU, Visakhapatnam Only.
The admission to the programme will be based on DET Ranking.
The questions shall include multiple-choice questions (English medium only). Multiple Choice Questions for 100 marks will be based on General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude and Current Affairs. Candidate shall attempt 100 questions. Each question will carry ‘1’ mark.
Qualifying marks in DET: The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% (i.e. 35 marks out of total 100 marks). There will be no minimum qualifying marks for S.C & S.T candidates for ranking.
