The Goa University shall conduct Goa University Common Law Admission Test-I (GU-CLAT-I) 2026 for admissions to the B.A.LL.B. Programme for the Academic Year 2026-27.

The GU-CLAT-I 2026 shall be conducted based on the following:

Eligibility
Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (12th Standard) Examination of Goa Board of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination recognized by Goa University in any stream of knowledge with a minimum of 45% marks[40% marksin case of SC/ST applicants and 42% for OBC(NCL) applicants] shall be eligible for admission to the First Year B.A. L.L.B. Programme provided the candidate appears at the GU-CLAT-I 2026.

NOTE: Students awaiting their H.S.S.C results can also apply for GU-CLAT-I 2026-27.

The Admission for the academic year 2026-27 shall be based on the following Ordinance:
OC – 82 Ordinance relating to the Integrated Five-Year Double Degree Programme in Law-
Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (B.A. LL.B.)
and
Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (B.Com. LL.B.)

Admission Criteria
The Merit list shall be drawn based on performance at H.S.S.C. and GU-CLAT-I 2026. There shall be 50% weightage for the marks scored at the H.S.S.C. Examination and 50% weightage for the marks scored in GU-CLAT-I 2026.

In-case candidates secure equal marks on merit lists (HSSC + GU-CLAT-I), GU-CLAT-I marks shall be considered for breaking the tie.

While Selecting the Programme, the Candidates are required to select the Programme Level as "Integrated Programmes" and Programme as "Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (B.A. LL.B.)". All candidates have to select both the Colleges/Institutions i.e., "Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Comba, Margao - Goa" and "V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar, Panaji - Goa" at the time of application.
  • Admission shall be granted at the Institution based on the merit and availability of seats.
  • Test shall be conducted at:
    • V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar, Panaji - Goa
    • Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Comba, Margao – Goa
    The Test Centre shall be allotted by Goa University.
  • The LAST DATE forsubmission of application is 13th April 2026.
  • Digital copy of Passport size photograph, signature and H.S.S.C. Marksheet are required to be uploaded in the online Application Form. The softcopy of the Passport size photograph and Signature provided by the candidate has to be according to the specification mentioned below:
    • Digital Photo and Signature are required in .jpg or .jpeg image format.
    • File size of digital photo must be within 10kb to 500 KB limit.
    • The face must take up 70-80% of the photo.
    • Candidates shall not upload Selfies or photos of passport size photograph.
    • Candidate shall mandatorily have the following documents in specified format to complete the online application. (Note: The documents to be uploaded should be in pdf/ JPEG / JPG / format with file size 10KB-500KB)
      • SSC Marksheet and HSSC Marksheet (PDF format).
      • Income Certificate, Sports Certificate, Cultural Activity Quota Certificate (PDF/JPEG/JPG) if applicable.
      • Recent Passport Size Colored Photograph (JPEG / JPG).
      • Reservation category certificate - SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwD. (PDF format) if applicable.
      • Self-Declaration of Only Girl Child. (PDF/JPEG/JPG) on plain A4 size paper only. (Format Enclosed as ANNEXURE-I).
      • SBI Collect Application Fee Receipt.
  • Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply online much before the closing date and not wait till the last date for applying/payment of application fee to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability/failure to log on to the website on account of heavy load on the website.
  • Goa University does not assume any responsibility to candidates in case they are unable to submit their application by the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of the University.
  • Printout of the application form is NOT REQUIRED to be submitted to the University.
  • No changes shall be entertained after the application is submitted online.
Application Fees (Non-refundable)
To be paid online through SBI Collect only, after submission of form on Samarth Portal:
  • INR 700 in case Un-reserved / EWS / OBC (NCL).*
  • INR 350 in case of SC / ST of Goa.*
  • No feesshall be chargedfrom Personswith Disability.*
Instructions for payment of Fee on SBI Collect:
  • Click on link: https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/.
  • Select Educational Institutions as "Goa University".
  • Select Payment Category as "Other Fees".
  • Fill in the Payment Details.
  • Click on Next and complete Verify Payment Details and to Complete Payment.
  • Once the payment is completed, download the payment receipt.
  • After the payment of amount on SBI Collect, the payment ID is to be mentioned and payment receipt is to be uploaded on the SAMARTH portal, to complete the application process.
* Candidates applying for admission under [SC/ST/OBC(NCL)] these categories shall be required to submit a valid certificate to that effect issued by the Officer of the rank of the Deputy Collector or any other authorized Officer as notified by the Government of Goa.

* Candidates applying for admission under EWS, shall provide the certificate of Financial Year 2025-2026.
GU-CLAT-I 2026
The GU-CLAT-I 2026 shall be of One Paper of 100 marks, containing 100 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) of 1 mark each. There shall be no negative marking. No marks shall be deducted for unanswered questions. The duration of the Test shall be 90 minutes.

Admission Process
The merit list based on GU-CLAT-I 2026 andHSSC marks shall be declared by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa (DHE).

The process of allotment of seats atthe respective Colleges based on the merit and preference of the candidate and shall be carried out by the DHE, Government of Goa.

Important Notes:
