Admissions to Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) Design Programmes, 2026

IIAD has a limited number of seats for each programme. This means applicants who apply early and clear the entrance test in the initial admission cycle, have a higher likelihood of being accepted for the programme of their choice.
As soon as you complete your IIAD application form, you will receive our sample test paper, giving you ample time for preparation.

Our Undergraduate programme offers a total of 200 seats distributed across ten courses:

Eligibility
Under Graduate Programme Post Graduate Programme
  • For Undergraduate Programme, Candidates with 10+2 or equivalent in any stream (Science, Commerce, Humanities/Arts) with an aggregate of minimum 50% are eligible to apply. Candidates appearing for Class XII examination in the current academic year or awaiting results may also apply. Candidates are accepted from CBSE/ISC/State/IB or any other equivalent Indian or International Higher Secondary Board.
  • Please note that applicants to the BBA in Technology Business Management programme must have studied Mathematics in Class XII and secured a minimum of 80% in Class X.
  • For Postgraduate Programme, Graduates in any stream or discipline from a recognised institute/university are eligible to apply. Final year graduate students or students awaiting results may also apply.
Entrance Exam
IIAD Design Aptitude Test (IDAT) for B.DES. & M.DES. Applicants
Candidates applying to the following programmes are required to undergo the iDAT exam as part of a two-phase screening process, which includes the written test followed by a Portfolio Evaluation or Interview round:
Undergraduate (UG): Communication Design, Interior Architecture & Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Animation Film Design, Product Design

Postgraduate (PG): Communication Design, Interior Design & Styling

The IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) is a written test designed to assess a candidate’s creative and visual ability, cultural awareness, and logical thinking. The exam includes visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word answers, and multiple-choice questions.

Scholarship
IIAD provides merit-cum-means scholarships to deserving students. All students who qualify the IIAD Entrance Test are eligible to apply for scholarship. The information about applying for a scholarship will be made available along with the offer of admission.

Scholarship is granted on the basis of performance in the IIAD Entrance Test, the Statement of Purpose in the scholarship form as well as the financial need of the student.
