The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) has set the benchmark for undergraduate science education in the country for the past two decades. This prestigious exam paves the way for students to gain admission to top-tier postgraduate programs, solidifying science as a stellar career choice nationwide. With a JAM score, you can pursue a range of advanced degrees, including:

Admissions through JAM 2027 are categorized into two categories.
  • Admitting Institutes: Coordinated by JAM 2027 Organizing Institute.
  • Result Sharing Institutes: Candidates must approach these institutes directly after qualifying.
JAM 2027 Organizing Institute will coordinate admissions only for the Admitting Institutes. JAM 2027 qualified candidates can apply through the admission portal. For Result Sharing Institutes, candidates must apply directly to the respective institute.

  • Examination Date: February 14, 2027 (Sunday)
  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Subjects: BT, CY, EN, GG, MS, MA & PH
  • Examination Cities: Approximately 100 Cities
  • Eligibility: Open to all nationalities with no age restriction.
Admission Criteria:
  • Admission is based on All India Rank (AIR).
  • Reservation policy of Government of India applies.
  • Foreign Nationals must follow institute regulations.
  • Qualifying degree must be completed before admission.
  • Documents must be submitted within institute deadlines.
  • Decision of JAM 2027 Organising Institute shall be final and binding on all the applicants.

Please select your preferred subject(s) for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) from the list below. Candidates are permitted to appear in a maximum of two different subjects in the examination.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or are appearing for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2027 are eligible to appear for JAM 2027.

Who Can Apply?
Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or are appearing for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2027 are eligible to appear for JAM 2027.

Admission through JAM 2027 is subject to the following eligibility conditions:
  • The undergraduate programme should have been COMPLETED before the date of admission of the respective Admitting Institute.
  • Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required eligibility, as specified by the respective Admitting Institute, must be submitted within the prescribed timeline.
Test Schedule
The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 will be conducted in two sessions on 14 February, 2027 (Sunday).
Examination Date Session Test Papers
14 February, 2027 (Sunday) FN 9:30 - 12:30 Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA)
AN 2:30 - 5:30 Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Physics (PH)
Important Note:
A candidate can appear in either one or two Test Papers. However, two Test Papers can be selected only if they are scheduled in different sessions (Forenoon and Afternoon).
Application Procedure
Complete your examination and admission application through JOAPS.
JOAPS Portal
Candidates can apply for JAM 2027 only through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) available tentatively from September 5, 2026.

Last Date: 12 October, 2026
  • Register on JOAPS
    Register using your name, valid email address, mobile number and password. Your Enrolment ID and OTP will be sent to your registered email and mobile number.
  • Login & Fill Application
    Login using your Enrolment ID or registered email and complete the online application form.
  • Upload Documents
    - Photograph
    - Signature
    - Date of Birth Proof
    - Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Pay Application Fee
    Complete the application fee payment through any available online payment mode.
  • Track Application Status
Important Instructions:
  • Use your own frequently accessed email address for all communications.
  • Only one candidate can register using one email address.
  • Provide your personal mobile number and keep it active until admission is completed.
  • Submit only one application form, even if appearing for two test papers.
  • Regularly check the website, registered email and SMS for updates.
  • Fill the application form yourself to avoid incorrect information.
  • Verification of eligibility and educational qualifications is done only by the Admitting Institutes.
  • Admission offers remain provisional until all eligibility requirements are fulfilled.
  • Being in the Merit List does not guarantee admission. Admission depends on merit and seat availability.

The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Important:
Fee for changing Examination City / Test Paper / Category / Gender / Date of Birth is Rs. 300/- plus the applicable difference in application fee.

JAM 2027 scores are accepted by IISc and various CFTIs including NITs, DIAT, IIEST, IISER Pune, IISER Bhopal, IIPE, JNCASR and SLIET through CCMN.
Examination Cities (Tentative)
JAM 2027 Committee may add or remove examination cities due to operational constraints. Any updates will be notified on the official JAM website.
The second and third preferences of examination cities must be selected from the same zone as the first choice.
