Admission into the 2nd Year (3rd Semester) of 4-Year UG Engineering/Technology or Pharmacy Degree Programs, 2026

WBJEEB will conduct OMR-based common Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test-2026 (JELET-2026) for admission in the academic session 2026-27 into 2nd year (3rd semester) of 4-year Undergraduate Courses in Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy of different Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self-Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

Schedule of JELET-2026: 13th June, 2026 (Saturday), 11:00 A.M. to 01:00 P.M.

JELET-2026 will be held once only, and there shall be no further examination under any circumstances for those who are unable to appear on the date and time of the JELET-2026 examination mentioned above.

Important Instructions to candidates while Registering for JELET-2026
Once an application is received, it will be assumed that the candidate accepts all terms, conditions and guidelines listed in the Information Bulletin and in any relevant notices that the Board issued for that purpose.
Any application not in compliance with the conditions specified in the Information Bulletin is liable to be rejected.
1 Application for the examination must be done online only. No printed application form is available.
2 Ensure filling the genuine application form available online only at www.wbjeeb.nic.in.
3 Do not attempt to make any duplicate application.
4 It is essential to have a valid mobile number and a unique, valid email ID.

All future communications by the Board will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. WBJEEB will not be held responsible for non-receipt of any communication due to wrong / non-existing / non-functional / changed mobile number / email ID or due to network interruption.
5 Once the registration details, i.e., name, father’s name, mother’s name, domicile and date of birth, are entered and submitted, this information cannot be changed/modified/edited under any circumstances.

Also, the information must match exactly with the school/college admit cards, marksheets, certificates, photo identity cards, caste/category/income certificates, etc. (as applicable), which a candidate has to produce at the time of entering the examination hall, during counselling/admission and registration with the University.
6 Do not share your application number, password, o r security question/answer withanyone. The Board will not be held responsible if any candidate commits a mistake which may result in negative consequences.
7 Upload a scanned copy of the photograph and signature as per the instructions provided inthe Information Bulletin. If any candidate receives an SMS/email regarding a discrepancy in the photograph/signature, he/she must take corrective action immediately, within one day. Admit cards will not be issued if these images are illegible and therefore unacceptable.
8 If any information other than the name, father’s name, mother’s name, domicile, and date of birth given in the application needs to be corrected, the candidate may rectify it only within the notified ‘Correction Period’. The Board will not make or allow any correction thereafter.
9 The Examination Fees can be paid only via Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPi/QR Code.

SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates availing of the concession will have to upload/submit respective certificates in the given formats at the time of counselling, failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled.
The fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.
Do not wait for the last day to pay registration fees to avoid payment failure by the bank or EPG.
10 Keep copies of the Confirmation page and the Admit card in safe custody.
11 Candidates are requested to visit the Board's website (www.wbjeeb.nic.in / www.wbjeeb.in) regularly to stay updated on the latest information.
12 Cautionary:
  • Appearing for the examination and even obtaining a rank does not guarantee admission.
  • Applicable rules at the time of counselling will determine allotment and admission criteria.
  • Candidates must make themselves aware of the latest rules and criteria for admission into different Universities/Institutions and other specific criteria issued by the Government/Regulatory bodies from time to time.
  • If a candidate does not keep himself/herself informed about any updated material regularly, the board will not be held accountable.
  • The candidates will be prima facie allowed in the examination based on the information provided by the candidates during the online application, but the documents concerning the information provided by the candidates will only be verified by the allotted institute(s) during and after counselling/admission. Therefore, candidates' certificates, documents, and proofs must be valid at the time of verification. If a candidate's claim is found to be invalid during verification, his/her category, rank, or admission may be revoked.
  • The detailed schedule of all activities regarding the examination will be available on the Board’s website, in due course of time.

Pattern of question papers
  • At the time of online application, candidates will select his/her qualifying examination among:
    • Diploma in Engineering/Technology
    • Diploma in Pharmacy
    • B.Sc.
    • D.Voc.
    • B.Voc.
  • There will be two separate papers, namely
    • Paper-I for Diploma in Engineering/Technology, B.Sc., D.Voc. and B.Voc. candidates.
    • Paper-II for Diploma in Pharmacy candidates.
  • Paper-I for Diploma in Engineering/Technology, B.Sc., D.Voc. and B.Voc. candidates will have the following structure.

  • For Pharmacy Diploma students, Paper-II consists of 100 questions in Category-1.
  • Each question is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) in English with four possible answers, and two hours are allotted to complete the paper.
Eligibility and Academic Qualification Criteria
Eligibility criteria for application
  • Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • Age Restriction:
    • There is no upper age limit for Diploma holders in Engineering / Technology / D.Voc. / Pharmacy.
    • For B.Sc. Candidates, the upper age limit is 27 (twenty-seven) years as on 31.12.2026.
    • For Diploma holders in marine Engineering, the upper age limit is 25 (twenty-five) years as on 31.12.2026.
Eligibility criteria for admission
  • Diploma holders seeking admission in Engineering & Technology Degree Courses:
    • Passed Minimum Three years / Two years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology [as given in the table 8.2 (viii) in AICTE Approval Process Handbook-2024-2027].
      OR
      Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognised University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject [as given in the table 8.2 (viii) in AICTE Approval Process Handbook-2024-2027].
      OR
      Passed B.Voc/3-year D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector [as given in the table 8.2 (viii) in AICTE Approval Process Handbook-2024-2027].
      (The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve the desired learning outcomes of the programme)
      N.B.: Reserved Category belongs to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD
    • But for admission in Jadavpur University, the candidate must secure at least 60% (45% for SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B / PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA in the diploma examination. D.Voc. Candidates are not eligible for admission in Jadavpur University through lateral entry.
      Note: Any changes to the abovementioned admission criteria will be notified separately in due course.
    • All relevant norms of D. G. Shipping will be applicable for admission into the Degree Course in Marine Engineering.
  • B.Sc./B.Voc. candidates seeking admission into the Engineering & Technology Degree Course:
    • The candidate must pass B.Sc. / B.Voc. Degree from any University recognised by UGC with at least 45% (40% for SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B / PwD) marks.
    • Also, the B.Sc. candidate must have passed the 12th standard school examination with Mathematics as a subject.
    • The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing of the 1st year Degree Course in Engineering / Technology, along with their second-year subjects.
    • B.Sc. / B.Voc. candidates will be considered for admission only if vacancies remain after filling the seats with available Diploma-holding candidates.
    • B.Sc. / B.Voc. Candidates are not eligible for admission into the Degree Course in Pharmacy.
    • B.Sc. / B.Voc. Candidates are not eligible for admission in Jadavpur University through lateral entry.
  • Both B.Sc. Candidates and Diploma holders in Engineering & Technology will also be eligible for admission to the 1st year Engineering Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes in case the vacancies as lateral entry at the second year are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned above.
  • Diploma holders in Pharmacy seeking admission into the Degree Course in Pharmacy
    • The candidate must pass a Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
    • The candidate must secure at least 45% (40% for SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B / PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA.
    • Such candidates will also be eligible for admission to the 1st year Degree Course, subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes, in case the vacancies as lateral entry at the second year are exhausted. However, admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria mentioned above, or on any notification issued by the Pharmacy Council of India on this issue.
N.B.: However, if any notification/circular is issued by the Pharmacy Council of India on the above matter, it will be published in due course for taking necessary action accordingly.
