Admission to M.Sc. Nursing Courses 2026

Online Applications are invited from eligible/desirous candidates who intend to appear in the Common Entrance Test for admission to M.Sc. Nursing Courses for the Academic Session-2026 in the Government/Private Colleges/Institutions of the UT of J&K. The selection of the candidates to such courses shall be regulated by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Act 2002 and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder; Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 as amended vide J&K Reorganization Act, 2019, J&K Reservation Rules, 2005 and S.O. 176 dated 15-03-2024 read with S.O. 305 dated 21-05-2024 and subject to further amendments, if any, made by the Competent Authority, from time to time.

Important Information
  • Receipt of Online Application Forms w.e.f. 08/05/2026 (11:00 A.M. onwards).
  • Last date for filling the Online Application Forms 21/05/2026 (Midnight).
  • Fee of Rs. 1,500/- (Rupees One Thousand & five hundred only) to be paid online through National Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
  • The syllabus for the Common Entrance Test is available in the E-Information Brochure.
  • Date of Common Entrance Test: To be notified separately.
  • The Common Entrance Test shall be conducted by the Board through offline mode.
Eligibility
The candidates applying for admission to M.Sc. Nursing Programme must fulfil the following eligibility conditions. A candidate must:
  • be a domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by Competent authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile certificate);
  • have passed B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks,
  • should have undergone B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
  • should be a registred Nurse and Registered Midwifery or equivalent with any State/UT Nursing Registration Council.
  • have minimum of one year work experience after B.Sc. Nursing.
  • have a minimum of One year work experience prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  • Valid Reserved Category Certificate, if any.
  • Candidates shall be medically fit.
Nature of Question Paper
  • It shall be the sole responsibility of the candidate to check the Question Booklet before attempting to answer any question. Where a Question Booklet has any missing page, blank page, missed question or damaged or defaced page, it shall be the responsibility of the concerned candidate to bring it into the notice of the concerned invigilator and get it replaced by a new Booklet of the same series. The Question Booklet must have 120questions. No complaint in this regard shall be entertained by the Board after the conclusion of the examination;
  • M.Sc. Nursing course CET Examination shall consist of Single Paper with 120 questions with time duration of 02.00 hours. The questions shall be multiple choice objective types with one mark each. There will be 0.25 negative marks for each wrong answer;
  • The broad distribution of questions in different subjects shall be:

  • The question paper shall be objective type containing multiple choice answers. It contains several pages stapled together in one cover. The questions are based on knowledge, understanding and application of the relevant subject that a student to possess on the basis of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing courses, he/she had studied during his/her course(s). All questions are compulsory. There are 0.25 negative marks for every wrong answer.
  • The Candidates should not make any type of marking on the Question Booklet. Paper for rough work is included in the Question Booklet.
  • Each Question Booklet has four series, which are in alphabets i.e. A, B, C, D printed on the cover page of the Question Booklet. At the end of the Entrance Test, candidates can take the Question Booklets with them.
