The Osmania University (OU) Ph.D. Entrance Exam is a mandatory test for admission to various doctoral programs in fields like Science, Arts, Management, and Technology. Candidates need a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent) to be eligible, with 5% relaxation for reserved categories.

Online Applications are invited for Ph.D. Admissions under Category-I in various faculties of Osmania University. The candidates, who have qualified & awarded JRF in national level test such as UGC/CSIR/ICMR/ICAR/DBT/INSPIRE/NFSC & NFST etc., are eligible to apply.

The candidates seeking admission into Ph.D. programme under Category-I offered by Osmania University in different subjects in the faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Oriental Languages, Commerce, Education, Law, Management, Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology and Informatics are informed that the list of the subjects is provided in Annexure-I and list of allied subjects is provided in Annexure-II .

• Eligibility Conditions:
  To be eligible the candidates must have qualified and been awarded junior research fellowship (JRF) in a national level test such as UGC / CSIR / ICMR / ICAR / DBT / INSPIRE / NFSC & NFST etc.
• Registration Fee:
  The Registration fee for online submission of application form is Rs. 2,000/-. The procedure for payment of Registration fee is available in the website: www.ouadmissions.com .
• Admission Validity:
  Admission for Ph.D. under Category-I is valid only for the current admission cycle-2026 as per this notification.
• General Conditions:
  The admission to Ph.D. programme Category-I is subjected to rules and regulations of Osmania University, as amended from time to time. Qualifying through above fellowship UGC/CSIR/ICMR/ICAR/DBT/INSPIRE/NFSC & NFST etc., alone does not guarantee admission to Ph.D. programme.
  
  The admission is subject to the availability of vacancies with the research supervisors in the concerned department, the candidates academic record, the performance of the candidate in the Ph.D. admission interview and the State Govt. reservation policy.
