Admission to Post Graduate Programmes for the Session 2026-2027

  • The University of Allahabad announces the Postgraduate Admission Test (PGAT) for the academic session 2026-27. The registration for all postgraduate courses offered by the University of Allahabad will start from 05/05/2026 (Tuesday) only via online mode through the link htps://aupravesh2026.cbtexam.in . The last date of registration will be 25/05/2026 (Monday).
  • The conventional PG courses will be available through PGAT-I while non-conventional PG courses will be available through PGAT-II (List of courses is available in the PGAT-2026 information bulletin). PGAT-I test will be offered in both online as well as offline mode while PGAT-II test will be offered via online mode ONLY. The list of courses under PGAT-I and PGAT-II can be checked in the information bulletin.
  • The registration fees for PGAT-I Courses for Unreserved, EWS and OBC Category is Rs. 1,000/- and for SC/ST/PwD is Rs. 500/-.
  • The registration fees for PGAT-II Courses for Unreserved, EWS and OBC Category is Rs. 1,600/- and for SC/ST/PwD is Rs. 800/-.
  • The applicants are advised to check the eligibility for their choice of programme through the information bulletin PGAT-2026, which is available on the university website (www.allduniv.ac.in ).
  • Applicants are advised to fill the correct subject codes of their choice carefully. NO CHANGE in this matter shall be entertained at any stage of the PGAT Admission.
  • The University of Allahabad strictly follows the Government of India's reservation policy, providing 15% reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC) in admissions. Additionally, 10% seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EwS). In addition, 5% quota for person with benchmark disabilities and 2% quota for sports candidate in each course will be provided.
  • NCC Weightage and Sports Quota will NOT be applicable in B.Ed., M.Ed., M.B.A. and M.B.A.(RD) courses.
  • Foreign Nationals shall be required to apply through International Students Advisor, University of Allahabad (https://www.allduniv.ac.in/administration/international-students-advisor ) in accordance with the procedure the PGAT-2026.
  • Each PGAT-2026 test will be of 300 marks and will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCOS). Fifty questions will be related to General Awareness, General English, General Hindi, Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability and will be compulsory for all courses except LL.M., B.Ed., M.Ed. and M.B.A./M.B.A.(RD). Remaining questions will be as per the applicant's choice of programme. More details regarding paper pattern can be found in the information bulletin. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • Applicants applying for the MBA / MBA(RD) programs will be required to take an additional test administered by the respective department.
  • There are minor changes made in the eligibility and admission criteria, therefore, prior to filling the application form, PGAT-2026 information bulletin must be read carefuly:
    • For all the applicants under Sports Quota Admission, a fitness test (50m Sprint, 1000m running, Over Head Ball Throw and Standing Broad Jump) is compulsory, if found unsatisfactory in terms of fitness parameters, the candidature through Sports Quota Admission would NOT be considered. The details of sports quota admission can be found in PGAT-2026 information bulletin.
    • M.Sc. Agriculture Botany has been renamed to M.Sc. Agricultural Microbiology.

PGAT-2026 Test Pattern
  • Each PGAT-2026 test of 300 marks will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • First fifty questions of PGAT-2026 test for a course mentioned in List I, List II and List III will be compulsory for all applicants. These fifty questions will be related to General Awareness, General English, General Hindi, Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability. Each correct answer will be awarded ‘2’ (two) marks.
  • Remaining hundred questions of PGAT-2026 test for a course mentioned in List I, List II and List III will be related to two subjects of final year of the applicant’s graduation for which applicant has applied as a Subject Applicant wherein fifty-fifty questions will be related to each subject separately. Applicants are advised to fill the correct codes for their respective subjects carefully. Each correct answer will be awarded ‘4’ (four) marks. Total marks for each subject will be computed separately as sum of marks scored for fifty compulsory questions and that scored for fifty questions of the respective subject.
  • An applicant is allowed to attempt just fifty questions related to only one of the two subjects of final year of their graduation as their choice in the application form as a Subject Applicant in place of remaining hundred questions as mentioned in above mentioned clause 3. Applicant’s candidature as a Non-Subject Applicant for courses mentioned in List I, List II and List III will be annulled once he/she makes such a choice and total of marks of such applicant will be computed only for the chosen subject that will be equal to sum of the marks scored for fifty compulsory questions and that scored for fifty questions of the chosen subject.
  • First fifty questions of PGAT-2026 test for a course mentioned in List IV and List V except LL.M. B.Ed., M.Ed., M.B.A./M.B.A. (RD) will be compulsory for all the applicants. These fifty questions will be related to General Awareness, General English, General Hindi, Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability. Each correct answer will be awarded ‘2’ (two) marks.
  • Remaining hundred questions of PGAT-2026 test for a course mentioned in List IV and List V except LL.M., B.Ed., M.Ed., M.B.A./M.B.A. (RD) will be related to respective subject. Each correct answer will be awarded ‘2’ (two) marks.
  • Please see the test pattern for LL.M., B.Ed., M.Ed., M.B.A./M.B.A. (RD) in their respective brochures.
Note: There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
Mode of PGAT-2026 Test
  • PGAT-I test meant for courses mentioned in List I, List II, List III and List IV will be conducted Online as well as Offline.
  • PGAT-II test meant for courses mentioned in List V will be conducted Online only.
Procedure for Online Submission of Application Form for Admission Test
Applicants can submit online form for the Admission Test-2026 at the concerned link of the website https://aupravesh2026.cbtexam.in or PG Admission-2026 link www.allduniv.ac.in The website has all the information required for online form submission. Online Prospectus: The prospectus for all courses of Admission Test-2026 is available on the concerned link of the https://aupravesh2026.cbtexam.in or PG Admission-2026 link www.allduniv.ac.in and the admission aspirants can visit the website and download it. Aspirants are advised to read the prospectus carefully before applying.

Requirement for Online Form Submission:
All aspirants filling the online form are advised to read the instructions to fill up the online form, which has all the pre‐requisite and the guidelines in this regard. Admission aspirants are required to have followed in advance while submitting Application Form:
  • A scanned copy of their coloured photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) and their signature. These scanned copies of coloured photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm) in JPEG (*.JPG) Format and Signature in JPEG (*.JPG) Format are required to be uploaded during the online form submission. The file size of photograph and signature in any case shall not exceed 80 KB for each file separately.
  • Aadhaar Number and ABC ID is mandatory for Applicant to complete the admission process.
