Press Release - Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 Session 2 (April 2026)

• The NTA will conduct JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 on 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 April 2026 at around 566 examination centres across 304 cities nationwide and 14 cities outside India in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for around 11.23 lakh candidates.
• JEE (Main) being a high-stakes examination, robust cybersecurity measures are essential to ensure a secure and smooth examination process. In this regard, the NTA has already implemented stringent security protocols to ensure a transparent and incident-free conduct of the exams.
• Development of online Portal. The NIC developed an online portal for inviting applications for JEE (Main) 2026 with several new features to enhance accuracy, security and ease of use which includes the following:
  (a) AI-based face comparison.
  (b) OTP-based Aadhaar e-KYC authentication.
  (c) Live photograph comparison with the Aadhaar/ Digi Locker photograph.
  (d) Verification of the uploaded photograph against the live photograph.
  (e) Automatic fetching of PwD/PwBD details from the UDID portal.
  (f) Option of City Choices to candidates were restricted only to states of their present and permanent addresses.
• The NTA Examination machinery consists of various Central Government agencies, State and District representatives, Examination Functionaries, flying squad members, Exam Conducting Agency and others working in collaboration with the NTA to ensure safe and secure examination process.
