The National Testing Agency (NTA) established by Ministry of Education, Government of India an independent/autonomous, self-reliant and self-sustained premier testing organization will be conducting the Rashtriya Military School Common Entrance Examination (RMS CET)-2026 for admission to Class VI and IX in Rashtriya Military Schools for the academic year 2027-2028.

Rashtriya Military Schools are English medium residential Public Schools run by the Ministry of Defence to import quality education to the wards of defence personnel and civilians from classes VI to XII. These schools are the founding members of the Indian Public Schools' Conference (IPSC). There are five Rashtriya Military Schools (RMSs) located at Chail in the Shimla Hills of Himachal Pradesh, Ajmer and Dholpur in Rajasthan, Belgaum and Bengaluru in Karnataka. For Academic year 2027-2028, RMS CET will be conducted as per the following details:

Last date for successful transaction of fee	20 October 2026 (Up to 11:50 PM)*
Date for late submission of online application form and late fee @ Rs. 500/-	21 October 2026 to 25 October 2026 (Up to 05:00 P.M.) and last date for submission of late fee - 25 October 2026 (Up to 11:50 P.M.)* *Exam fee can be paid online either through Credit / Debit Card / Net-Banking / UPI

Eligibility for admission to Class IX	Candidate should between 13-16 years as on 31st March 2027 (born between 1st April 2011 to 31st March 2014, both days inclusive) ^#

Candidates desirous of appearing in RMS CET-2026 are advised to read the detailed Information Bulletin carefully and apply online only through the official website within the prescribed timelines. The examination fee is required to be paid online through the designated payment gateway using a Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/UPI.

Eligibility: Educational Qualification for Admission

For admission to Class VI, the candidates must have passed Class V or be studying in Class V and pass it before that date of admission to Rashtriya Military School. For admission in Class IX, the candidate must have passed Class VIII from a government/recognized school before the date of admission to Rashtriya Military School. Candidates should also preferably have knowledge of English which is the medium of instruction in Rashtriya Military Schools.

Admission Test

The CET written examination for Class VI & Class IX will be through Optical Mark Reader (OMR) based examination and scheme of marking for these papers will be as given below:

Syllabus

Written test will generally be of Class V standard for Class VI and Class VIII standard for Class IX admission. Question Paper in Entrance exam will be bilingual (English and Hindi) for Class VI and only in English for Class IX.
