Programme Eligibility
  • Master’s Degree
    Minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-Abled) in a relevant discipline.
  • M.Phil. Qualification
    Minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade; relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per UGC norms. Candidates with M.Phil. dissertations evaluated, but viva pending, are also eligible.
  • Integrated or 1-Year Master’s after 4-Year Bachelor’s
    Minimum 75% marks after a 4-year bachelor’s; 55% for other master’s programmes (relaxation for reserved categories applies).
  • Foreign Degrees
    Equivalent qualifications from recognised/approved foreign institutions are eligible.
  • Special Cases
    Any relaxation or modification is subject to UGC guidelines, as approved by the Academic Council.
  • Equivalent Degrees
    Candidates with degrees considered equivalent to M.Phil. from Indian or accredited foreign institutions are eligible, as per the UGC (2022) guidelines.

  • Academic qualification certificates and mark sheets
  • Valid government-issued ID proof
  • Research proposal or Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  • NET/GATE score details (if applicable)
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Migration certificate (or notarized affidavit if unavailable)
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from current employer (only for candidates working in government organizations)

  • Upload academic documents, ID proof, research proposal/SOP, NET/GATE details (if any).

Selection Process
Stage 1 - SNURET / Research Aptitude Test including:
  • Research methodology (50% weightage)
  • Subject‑specific assessment (50% weightage)
Note: JRF/NET/GATE holders may be exempted from written exam as per UGC norms.
Stage 2 - Interview/viva-voce
  • Merit list of selected candidates will be published based on the combined score of the entrance test and interview.
  • Selected students to pay applicable balance programme fee
