A Common Entrance Test designated in full as Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma and for B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree Candidates in short as TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)] - 2026 will be conducted by Osmania University Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana Council of Higher Education for the academic year 2026-2027.

  • For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B.E/B.Tech. Courses in both University and Private Un-aided Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by All India Council for Technical Education.
  • For lateral admission into 2nd year B. Pharmacy Course in both University and Private Un-aided Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.

Note: The eligibility criteria for admission into the new B.E./B.Tech. Programmes permitted by the Government of Telangana will be considered at the time of admission based on the Telangana Government Orders for the Academic year 2026-2027 (Lateral entry admission).

However, in all the cases, candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the relevant G.Os / Amendments / Notifications to be issued from time to time.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria to appear for TG ECET-2026:
Candidates should satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for appearing for the TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)] - 2026.
  • Candidate should be of Indian Nationality.
  • The candidates should satisfy local/un-reserved status requirements as specified in the AP Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended, read with G.O. Ms No. 15, Higher Education (TE) Department, Dated: 27-02-2025.
  • Candidate should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology / Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Telangana, or any other Diploma recognized by the Government of Telangana as equivalent there to for admission into the relevant B.E. / B.Tech. / B. Pharmacy Programs corresponding to the Diploma as given in the Instruction Booklet.

    Candidate should have passed the 3 - year B.Sc. Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the Telangana or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses as given in the Instruction Booklet.

    NOTE: Candidates appearing for qualifying examination in the academic year 2025-2026 are eligible and have to submit the qualifying certificate with required percentage of marks at the time of counseling for admissions.
  • Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course under sandwich pattern shall be eligible for entry into the relevant B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Pharmacy courses, provided, they have completed the practical training for the sandwich course by the date of counseling for entry into the relevant course.
  • Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology / Pharmacy / B.Sc. (Mathematics) Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.
Eligibility for admission into B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Pharm.:
  • For Lateral entry admissions into 2nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech. Courses in both University and Un-Aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by All India Council for Technical Education.
  • For Lateral entry admissions into 2nd year regular B.Pharmacy Course in both University and private Un- Aided professional institutions (Minority & NonMinority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India. Candidates should have appeared and qualified at the TG ECET - 2026.
  • Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.
  • Qualifying marks in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)] - 2026.
    The qualifying percentage marks for obtaining a rank in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)] - 2026 is 25% of the aggregate marks in the four subjects [Three subjects for B.Sc. (Mathematics)], i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200. However, in the case of SC / ST candidates, there shall be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates. The rank obtained with the benefit of relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at the TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)] - 2026 by any candidate claiming to belong to SC/ST category will be cancelled in case the claim is found to be invalid at the time of admission.
Criteria for Admissions
The following order of preference shall be observed in considering Diploma candidates for admission into various courses:
  • For admission into Degree programme in Information Technology, first preference will be given to candidates who have obtained the Diploma in Information Technology. Any seats still vacant shall be filled with candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Technology on the basis of their integrated merit ranking.
  • For admission into Degree programme in Textile Technology, candidates who have obtained their Diploma in Textile Technology (Design & Manufacturing) and Textile Technology (Knitting) must necessarily have completed their Intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
  • Diploma candidates of Special Diploma course in Industrial Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering have to appear for TG ECET – FDH Examination in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) for admission into Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) course.
  • For admission into Degree programme in Computer Science and Engineering and its allied branches first preference will be given to candidates who have obtained Diploma in Computer Science Engineering. Any seats still vacant shall be filled with candidates who have obtained Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Technology on the basis of their integrated merit ranking.
However, in all the cases, candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the relevant G.Os / Amendments / Notifications to be issued from time to time.
