Telangana Law Common Entrance Test-2025 (TG LAWCET-2025) and Telangana PG Law Common Entrance Test - 2025 (TG PGLCET-2025) will be conducted by the CONVENER, TG LAWCET/ TG PGLCET-2025, Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana Council of Higher Education for admission into 3Year / 5Year LL.B. Regular Courses and 2 year LL.M. Courses in the Colleges of Law in Telangana for the academic year 2025-2026.

Eligibility Criteria to appear for TG LAWCET & TG PGLCET - 2025
  • 3 year LL.B. Course:
    The Candidates for 3-year LL. B. Course should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned with 45% of aggregate marks for general category, 42% for OBC Category and 40% for SC/ST.

    If any candidate secured less than 45%, 42% and 40% respectively in graduation as stated above, he should have secured same percentage or more on the aggregate in any Post Graduation or B.Ed.

    Note:
    The percentage of 44.5% and above in aggregate in graduation (10+2+3 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to general categories, 41.5% or above in aggregate in graduation (10+2+3 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to OBC category, 39.5% and above in aggregate in graduation(10+2+3 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be considered as 45%,42% and 40% of aggregate marks respectively for admission into LL.B 3 year course.

    The candidates who have passed Degree examination by single sitting without undergoing three years course either through regular or private or correspondence and those who obtained the degree through Open University directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible as per G.O. Ms No. 31 dated:18-03-2009.
    Polytechnic Diploma shall be considered as Intermediate (+2) as per G.O. Ms. No. 112 Dated. 27-10-2001.

    Note:
    • Candidates may refer to the G. O. Ms. No. 64, Higher Education (UE.II) Department, Dated: 26.05.2006 and other G.Os along with amendments if any for ascertaining their eligibility.
    • The Bar Council of India (BCI) official website http://www.barcouncilofindia.org may be seen for the Legal Education Rules, 2008.
    • The Hon’ble High Court of Telangana in Writ Appeal. No. 597 of 2020, W.P. Nos 37566 and 42680 of 2016 and W.P. No. 28822 of 2021 vide its judgement Dated: 28.12.2021 held that the B.A. External Graduates of Osmania University are not eligible for admission into 3 year LL.B. course and further the Court held that any candidates with such degree who secured admission in LL.B. course by virtue of Interim Orders of the High Court will not get a right in their favour. The candidates may read the above judgement for further details, before applying for entrance or admission.
    • With regard to students completed their respective degree course through correspondence, TG High Court in the cases dismissed their plea in one case the candidate went for Supreme court, as the matter is pending in Supreme court. the eligibility criteria for students will be subject to the outcome of the student plea.
    • The OBC candidates applying for the TG LAWCET -2025 shall invariably submit their OBC certificate issued by the competent authority to support 42% of aggregate marks in the Graduation.
  • 5 Year LL.B. Course:
    The Candidates for 5 year LL.B. course should have passed two year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana. with 45% of aggregate marks for general category, 42% for OBC Category and 40% for SC/ST.

    Note:
    The percentage of 44.5% and above in aggregate in Intermediate (10+2 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to general categories, 41.5% or above in aggregate in Intermediate (10+2 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to OBC category and 39.5% and above in aggregate in Intermediate (10+2 Pattern) in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be considered as 45%, 42% and 40% respectively for admission into LL. B 5-year course.

    The students who have pursued Polytechnic Diploma are eligible to apply for 5 years course as per G.O. Ms. No.112 Dated. 27-10-2001.

    A candidate appearing for Intermediate final year examination may take the TG LAWCET in anticipation of results. However, he/she must have passed at the time of counselling.
  • 2 Year LL.M. Course:
    Candidates holding LL.B./B.L. 3/5 Year degree on the date of application are eligible and candidates who have appeared/appearing for LL.B./B.L. Final year examination are also eligible.

    A candidate appearing for LLB/BL degree examinations may take the TG PGLCET in anticipation of results. However he/she must have passed at the time of counselling.

Submission of Online Applications
In terms of orders issued by the Government of Telangana State and the proceedings by Telangana Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad, ONLINE APPLICATIONS are invited for appearance at the TG Law Common Entrance Test and TG PG Law Common Entrance Test for admission into 1st year LL.B. (3YDC & 5YDC) and LL.M. Course respectively for the academic year 2025-2026.

Regional Test Centers
The TG LAWCET & PGLCET - 2025 test will be held at the following 17 Online Test Centres in Telangana State.
