In pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of the Uttar Pradesh Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya (Dwitiya Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2006 (Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 16 of 2006) as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented to by the Governor on May 23, 2006. As per provision of the Uttar Pradesh Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya (Dwitiya Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2006 (Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 16 of 2006) as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented to by the Governor on May 23, 2006, Registrar, Banda University of Agriculture & Technology, Banda would organise U.P.Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET)-2026 on rotation for admission in all the programmes of the four agriculture universities of Uttar Pradesh.

Admission Process and Registration for Candidates Allotted through Counseling at the Respective University
1) The rank-wise schedule for reporting and counseling will be uploaded to the website. Candidates must ensure their presence at the Banda University of Agriculture and Technology (Banda Campus) on the date designated for their specific rank.

2) Offline / Special Offline Counseling will be conducted for seats that remained vacant following previous counseling rounds, covering Normal, Paid, and NRI/NRI-Sponsored categories.

3) During the Special Offline Counseling, any seats remaining vacant within specific categories/sub-categories—due to a lack of eligible candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), or Scheduled Tribes (ST)—will be transferred to the Unreserved category.

The tentative date for the commencement of undergraduate course sessions at all agricultural universities will be August 12, 2026.
The tentative date for the commencement of postgraduate course sessions at all agricultural universities will be August 24, 2026.
The tentative date for the commencement of Ph.D. course sessions at all agricultural universities will be August 24, 2026.

Note: All information regarding the admission process for the Uttar Pradesh Combined Agricultural and Technological Entrance Test (UPCATET) – 2026 will be uploaded to the official website. Therefore, all candidates are requested to regularly visit and check the website.

• Due to unavoidable circumstances, the aforementioned dates are subject to change as deemed necessary. Consequently, all candidates are requested to continue checking the website regularly.

• The counseling process for the Postgraduate (Master's) level M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. (Veterinary) courses is tentatively scheduled to commence in the first week of February 2027.

• Admit cards for the Uttar Pradesh Combined Agricultural and Technological Entrance Test – 2026 will be available for download from June 01, 2026, until the date of the examination. The organizing university shall not be held responsible for any technical issues encountered thereafter. Candidates are advised not to wait until the last date to download their admit cards. For all necessary updates and information, candidates are requested to regularly visit the website.
Important - Candidates must thoroughly study the Information Brochure.
  • Candidates may apply for the UPCATET-2026 entrance examination exclusively through the online mode. No offline application forms will be considered.
  • The Information Brochure can be downloaded from the websites https://upcatetexam.org and https://buat.edu.in.
  • The link for online application will be available on the websites https://upcatetexam.org and https://buat.edu.in.
  • Instructions regarding the online application process will be available in the Information Brochure on https://upcatetexam.org.
  • An Aadhaar Number will be required while submitting the online application.
  • Candidates must use only their own mobile number and email ID for the purpose of applying. The examination body shall not be held responsible if a candidate fails to receive any communication due to the provision of an incorrect mobile number or email ID.
  • The application fee will be accepted only through online modes. Application fees sent via Demand Draft, Cheque, Indian Postal Order, Cash, etc., are deemed invalid, and such applications will be rejected.
  • Candidates may download their Admit Cards from the website https://upcatetexam.org. Candidates are advised to retain their Admit Cards safely until the entire admission process is complete.
  • Candidates are advised to visit/check the website https://upcatetexam.org periodically for information regarding important examination dates and online counseling.
  • Candidates should submit their online applications within the stipulated timeframe whenever possible; do not wait until the last date. There is no provision for the late submission of application forms.
  • Candidates must carefully read the instructions provided in this Information Brochure. The application form must be complete in all respects; incomplete or erroneous application forms will be rejected.
  • Before filling out the application form, candidates must fully ensure that they fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria for admission to the relevant course; otherwise, the fee once submitted will not be refunded under any circumstances, and admission will not be granted in the absence of the prescribed eligibility.

How to Apply Online
  • Read the given instructions carefully
    • Before filling out the online form, please ensure that you have the following details with you.
    • Your Personal Details
    • Please ensure that you keep all your educational certificates, as well as any certificates pertaining to Disability (Physically Handicapped), Freedom Fighter (FF) status, Sports Person status, or Ex-Serviceman (Defence Person/DP) status, readily available.
    • If you are a sportsperson, please ensure that you keep a scanned copy of your original sports certificate, along with Certificate-7 (the prescribed format provided in the information booklet) duly filled with all relevant details.
    • Scan your photograph (40kb), signature (40kb), right index finger impression (40kb), and sports certificate (200kb) in .jpg format, and save them securely on a pen drive or computer. The photograph must not be dated prior to March 1, 2026, and it must clearly display the candidate's name and the date on which the photograph was taken.
      * Candidates are requested to upload their sports certificates; otherwise, their application will not be considered under the 'Sport Person' category.
    • For the B.V.Sc. & A.H. course, the minimum age limit as of December 31, 2026, must be 17 years, and the maximum age limit must be 25 years. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will be granted a relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit. For all other undergraduate courses, the minimum age limit as of December 31, 2026, must be 16 years, and the maximum age limit must be 22 years. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will be granted a relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit.
      There is no age limit for postgraduate courses.
      Candidates are requested to visit https://buat.edu.in/ or https://upcatetexam.org/ to fill out the online application form.
  • Before filling out the online form, it is mandatory for the candidate to possess a valid mobile number and email ID.
    - During the form-filling process, the OTP (One-Time Password) and registration details will be sent to this registered mobile number. Candidates must keep this registered mobile number secure until the completion of the counseling process. All information related to the examination will be sent to this number. (A single mobile number can be used for only one application. To submit more than one application, a different mobile number must be used.)
  • Candidates are requested to fill in all their details accurately. Once finally submitted, you will not be able to make any corrections to your details. You may fill out the form by following the sequence provided below –

  • Application Fee:
    GEN (UR) / OBC (General / Backward Classes) – Rs. 1,350/-; and SC / ST (Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Women of all categories) – Rs. 1,100/-.
    dditionally, any applicable bank transaction charges shall be borne by the candidate.
