Undergraduate students may pursue these diploma courses concurrently with their regular bachelor's degree programs.
Eligibility:
In compliance with the notification issued by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, dated March 26, 2025, if a student wishes to seek admission to a specific subject at the postgraduate level but has not studied that subject as a Major or Minor at the undergraduate level, such a student shall be eligible for admission to the postgraduate program provided they possess relevant knowledge regarding that subject.
Students who have appeared for their final-year undergraduate examinations are also eligible to take the postgraduate entrance examination; however, it is mandatory that their examination results be declared by the time of admission, and they must submit the original mark sheets for all years/semesters of their undergraduate studies.
For admission to the Postgraduate (Mathematics) program, undergraduate students from the Arts stream who have studied Mathematics in their final year shall also be eligible. Similarly, for admission to the Postgraduate (Statistics) program, undergraduate students from the Arts stream who have studied Statistics in their final year shall also be eligible.
If an applicant has secured admission to postgraduate classes in the previous year through an entrance examination but has failed, or was debarred from appearing in the examination due to low attendance, or has faced disciplinary action initiated by the college, they shall not be eligible to appear in the entrance examination.
Post Graduate Entrance Examination Plan:
If a candidate has not studied a subject as a Major or Minor at the undergraduate level, but possesses knowledge of that subject and has passed the postgraduate entrance examination in the relevant discipline, they shall be eligible for admission.
The question paper for each subject of the entrance examination will consist of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. Each question will carry one mark, and the duration of the examination will be two hours.
All questions will be compulsory, and the question paper will be available in both Hindi and English (excluding the Language section). Questions in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics will be in English only.
If the number of applications received is less than twice the number of allotted seats, an entrance examination for that subject will not be conducted, and the entrance examination fee will not be refunded. In such a scenario, the Head of the Department or Dean of the Faculty shall select candidates for admission based on the qualifying examination, while strictly adhering to all other rules regarding the order of merit.
Note: The semester system is applicable to all subjects at the postgraduate level.
