Note: Class hours for the B.Tech courses are tentatively scheduled between 10:00 A.M. and 04:40 P.M. (Monday to Friday).

Admission to B.Tech programmes (CSE/ CSE - AI & ML/ ECE/ IT) will be offered based on XEAT (Phase II) scores and subject to seat availability in the preferred programmes. Otherwise, applicants will be considered for their next preferred option where seats are available.
Applicants who have applied in Phase I may re-submit the application by paying the application fees again and by selecting their programme preferences. They are required to login with their existing credentials and go to the dashboard to re-submit the application.

Eligibility Criteria and Guidelines

The candidate must have passed the 12th standard (10+2)or its equivalent examinations between 2023 & 2026, or be appearing in 12th standard (10+2) / equivalent examinations in 2026, with an overall aggregate of 60%in best of four subjects and a minimum of 45% marks individuallyin English, Physics and Mathematics (Mandatory), and any one from the following : Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Chemistry / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship.
The lower age limit for the candidate is 17 (seventeen) yearsas on 1st July, 2026.
The Provisional selection/admission will be conducted through the Xavier Engineering Admission Test (XEAT), administered by St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK). However, for the confirmation of final admission, the student should have passed Plus Two examination conducted by a recognised Board/Council in India and must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate (as mentioned above) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in each of the subjects considered in best of 4, failing which the selection/provisional admission of the student will be cancelled.
The final Plus Two result must be submitted to the University at the time of admission (if the board result is published) or before the commencement of classes. Until then, the admission will remain Provisional. If a candidate is selected and/or provisionally admitted (based on the marks obtained in the Xavier Engineering Admission Test (XEAT) but fails to fulfil the admission criteria (as mentioned above), the candidate will not be eligible for admission, or the provisional admission (if admitted provisionally) will be cancelled. The paid fees will be refunded in accordance with the University’s rules.
A student must have studied and passed in English at the +2 level(excluding foreign students for whom a separate set of rules applies).
Students passing the GCE examination of the UK are eligible for admission only if they have completed the ‘O’ Level Examination (minimum five passes) and completed ‘A’ Level (with minimum three passes), along with English at ‘AS’ Level. Such candidates must have completed and passed ‘A’ Level examination at the time of application. However, they must fulfil all other requirements.
Candidates with 'Projected Mark Sheets' from any of the boards are not eligible.
Students from foreign countries need to produce their English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL / IELTS) if the instruction of study in the qualifying examination is not in English medium at the time of admission.
Based on marks secured in Xavier Engineering Admission Test (XEAT), separate Merit Lists will be published for each program on the official website of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
Direct provisional admission may be conducted, if necessary, through JEE (Main) / WBJEE with a satisfactory rank after the final round of XEAT. However, the eligibility criteria that is mentioned above will remain the same. The decision regarding direct admission will be taken by the competent authority of the University.

The University reserves the right to reject the candidature and/or cancel the application/admission at any stage if the applicant fails to fulfil the above conditions.

RESERVATION FOR EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): A maximum of 10% of the total seats for each course are reserved for the EWS category. This provision is made in accordance with government guidelines. The candidate/s who opt for this category will be required to upload the EWS certificate issued by the competent authority. Without the certificate, the application will be cancelled. Candidates are requested to review the detailed government notification before applying for this category.

Admission Test details

Mode of Test and other details:
Internet-Based Test (IBT) with Full Remote Proctoring will be held for all courses.
The candidate will be given two options:

Internet-Based Test (IBT) with Full Remote Proctoring from the candidate’s own convenient location
Internet-Based Test (IBT) with Full Remote Proctoring at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata Campus

The candidate must select one of the above-mentioned options. However, the option once exercised cannot be changed or modified after the application form is submitted.

OPTION 1:
Internet-Based Test (IBT) with Full Remote Proctoring from any convenient place of the candidate’s choosing:

Pop-up blocker: Disabled
Uninterrupted power supply (UPS/Inverter, etc.)
Dedicated Internet and Internet Bandwidth of min. 2 MBPS (4G/Wi-Fi) or above + upload speed

Internet Connection:

The candidate can appear from any convenient location. However, the University will not be liable for any technical glitches or internet connectivity issues.
This IBT would be remote-proctored, i.e., the candidate will be remotely invigilated via a live video and audio feed, and the candidate’s computer screen will also be monitored.
The Mic and Web Camera must remain active throughout the Test Session, and it may be recorded to maintain transparency.

OPTION 2:
Internet-Based Test (IBT) with Full Remote Proctoring at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata Campus:

The candidate will be required to appear in person at the University Campus for the Test.
It will be on a “First Come, First Served” basis and will be provided to the first 120 students who choose this option.
There will be no technical or procedural difference between Option 1 and Option 2.

Note: Applicants opting to appear for XEAT (Phase II) from SXUK campus will be required to appear for the Mock Test from the campus on 13 June 2026 only. Admit Card downloading link and all details related to Mock Test will be communicated to the candidates through e-mail.
