This is in continuation of UG admission 2026 timelines and guidelines issued vide letter no: 75718/10 dated 6th May, 2026, that Spot admissions for UG 2026 will be conducted from 15th to 17th June, 2026 by the participating Higher Educational Institutions in the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal against the Institution-wise (discipline- wise/programme-wise) vacancies published in the admission portal.
In this regard, the undersigned is pleased to notify the following points:
1. Mandatory Registration on the Admission Portal for Spot admissions
Participation in the Spot Admission process shall be subject to the applicant being duly registered on the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal. In this regard, the following shall apply:
a. Applicants who have already registered on the admission portal and possess a valid Registration Number are not required to register again.
b. Applicants who have not yet registered on the admission portal may do so from 13th June onwards till 17th June, 2026 (4 P.M), prior to participating in the Spot Admission process.
2. Institution-Specific Spot Admission Policy
a. Participating Higher Educational Institutions may formulate and adopt institution-specific policies for the conduct of Spot Admissions, provided that such policies are consistent with the overarching principles in regard to admission.
b. All institution-specific Spot Admission policies, along with detailed procedures and guidelines, shall be mandatorily published on the respective institutional websites on or before 13th June, 2026, to ensure adequate notice to prospective applicants.
C. Institutions are advised to ensure that the published guidelines are comprehensive, unambiguous, and accessible, enabling applicants to make informed decisions about their participation in the Spot Admission process.
All Heads of the participating Institutions are requested to kindly follow the above-mentioned points in the larger interest of the applicants and to comply with the Government mandate of ensuring a seamless and transparent admission process.
