CHRIST follows University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016 and the subsequent Amendments.

The minimum eligibility of candidates intending to pursue a doctoral programme is a pass with a minimum of 55% in the postgraduate programme in the discipline/specialisation.

Students who have completed their post-graduation in the discipline/specialisation from an international university must submit an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

General Application Process
All candidates, regardless of their category or qualification, must apply through the official Christ University website.

All candidates are required to participate in the selection process, which includes the Entrance Test_Skill Assessment Test, Research Proposal Presentation and a Personal Interview. Exemptions & Special Procedures
In accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2016 (#5.1), the following candidates are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Examination.
UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) qualifiers.
SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship holders.
Candidates who have completed an M.Phil program.

Note: Candidates in these categories are still required to undergo a Research Skill Assessment Test conducted alongside their Research Proposal Presentation and a Personal Interview.

1. Admission Registration Fee: INR 8,000/- (Non-Refundable)
2. Programme Fee (as per the table below) Time of Payment: All candidates must pay the I Year fee immediately after confirmation of admission. For subsequent years, fees must be paid on or before 15th March.

• NRI fee is applicable for the first year for candidates who have studied foreign syllabus (has to be approved by UGC / AIU) in the qualifying examination of study in India. In subsequent years Other Indian States fee will be applicable.
  (The above condition is not applicable to NRI and candidates applied under NRI Category).
• NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programme for candidates who;
  2.1. Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.
  2.2. Are NRI and candidates who have applied under the NRI category.
• To claim the Karnataka OR Indian category fee, the candidates should have studied last 7 years in Karnataka or India. (Not applicable for OCI, PIO and Foreign Nationals).
• Admission registration fee of INR 8,000/- (US $100 for foreign nationals/PIO/OCI) is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of admission. This fee will be apart from cancellation charges if applicable.
• All Candidates If “Selected” after appearing for the final selection process, the fee may be paid through the following option:
  Payment can be made through Net banking / NEFT / RTGS
  Payment / Transfer of fees does not guarantee admission.
