Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into the two-year Postgraduate Programmes under NEP 2020 offered by Dakshin Dinajpur University for the academic session 2026–27. Applicants are advised to carefully read the guidelines and eligibility criteria provided below before completing the online application form. Applications should be submitted through the online admission portal (www.dduniv.ac.in & www.dduexam.net ) of Dakshin Dinajpur University.

General Considerations
In order to implement the Govt. Notification No. 638–Edn.(U)/HED-12016(21)/5/2025-UNV SECDept. of HE Date: 18.05.2026 (to all State-aided universities) from Senior Special Secretary, University Branch, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal, the following decisions were taken:
  • Online application for admission in M.A./M.Sc. course is mandatory for all potential incumbents.
  • No application fees will be charged for Online Admission Form fillup.
  • In each P.G. Department seats will be available for open competition among the graduates from other Universities. So, 100% seats will be filled-up strictly on the basis of merit in the qualifying Examination (i.e. Graduation or equivalent).
  • The reservation policies towards SC /ST /OBC / EWS/ PwD shall be followed as per the government norms.
  • The verification of documents should be done only when the students report for the classes in due course.
  • Refund of fees for cancellations of admission will be as per Govt. Notification No. D.O. No. F.2-71/2022 (CPP-II) (C-114546), Dated: 12th June, 2024 of University Grants Commission (Ministry of Education, Govt. of India).
  • Mere Online submission of application form by a candidate does not automatically ensure his/her admission to the Programme.
  • Once a student’s name appears in the merit list, and he/she fails to take admission within stipulated time, his/her name would not be considered in any subsequent list of the same subject.
  • A student who wants to join this University on migration from another University shall have to submit a Migration Certificate and Registration Fee of Rs. 200/- within one month from the date of admission.
  • Online application for admission in PG course is mandatory for all potential incumbents. Candidates are instructed to visit www.dduniv.ac.in and www.dduexam.net for detail information regarding online application.
  • All the provisionally admitted candidates are required to produce all their original academic Certificates, Marksheets, and SC / ST / OBC / EWS / Differently Able Persons (DAP) certificate issued by competent authority, and other testimonials, for verification. Other requirements will be notified in due course of time.
  • If a student selected for admission does not get himself/herself admitted within the specified time he/she will forfeit his/her claim for admission.
  • After admission, if at any point of time during the tenure of the course, it is detected that marksheet(s) submitted and/or any information provided by the candidate is/are forged/false, the admission of the candidate will be cancelled by the authority forthwith.
  • According to the directives of UGC (University Grants Commission) all the applicants must have their valid ABC ID for submission of application Form for admission. Therefore, all applicants are requested to obtain their ABC ID before filling in the online application form. For details, please visit https://www.abc.gov.in .
  • In accordance with the National Education Policy, for the session 2026-2027, the University has decided to offer only the following course for Post Graduation for the session 2026-2027.
         1) 02 (Two) Years PG Program for students intending to pursue after 03 (Three) years UG Honours/Major in Single Subject Degree Course.
Eligibility
  • Candidates who have passed the UG 6th Semester (Single Major) examination in 2026 under the NEP are eligible to apply. Candidates who have appeared for the UG 6th Semester examination in 2026 but whose results are yet to be published are also eligible to apply, provided that they have successfully cleared all semester examinations up to the 5th Semester and meet the prescribed eligibility criteria at the time of application.
    OR
    The Candidates already passed 03 years UG programme under CBCS (Hons.)/Hons. Degree (1+2+3) and having valid eligibility may also apply.
  • UG Degree holder as per NEP-2020 having less than 120 credits in Hons / Single Major Subject up to 06 Semesters are not eligible to apply for admission to PG Courses.
  • Where the marksheet of the candidates show only the SGPA score obtained by the candidate, the average of SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) score upto 6th Semester (UG) / Hons. Degree (1+2+3) programme shall be taken for the purpose of the Merit List.
  • Candidates who have passed UG examination four (04) years earlier or more, before the year of admission, shall not be eligible for admission to M.A./M.Sc. Courses (e.g. candidate passing UG examination in 2022 or before shall NOT be eligible for admission in P.G. courses of the session 2026-2027).

*Seat distribution has been made according to the Schedule attached with the West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act and Rules 2013 {See sub-rule (1) (e) of Rule 6}. Seat matrix prepared as per Notification vide No. 507-Edn(CS)/10M-95/14 Dated 30.06.2022 from the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal and 1047(64)/Secy-BCW dated 29.06.2026 issued by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal.
Selection Procedure
  • Selection of the candidates of all Universities should be done based on merit according to the marks obtained/CGPA/TCPA in the qualifying examination.
  • 45% seats (SC-22%, ST-6%, OBC-7%, EWS-10%) shall be kept reserved for SC, ST, OBC & EWS students from the State of West Bengal, who will be eligible for admission as per the above eligibility criteria. Persons with disabilities (PwD) will enjoy a 5% reservation in each of the categories, i.e. in SC, ST, OBC, EWS and in the unreserved or General Category, and such candidates, if available, shall be placed towards the top of the list prepared for each category of students. If there are no PwD applicants, the seats are filled up from applicants of the relevant categories. Fraction of 0.5% or more will be rounded to the next whole number. Reservation for OBC candidates for admission will be as per Kolkata Gazette Notification vide no. 945-BCW/MR-23/2026, dated 18th May, 2026; the letter No. 1037(64)/Secy-BCW/MR33/2025(Pt. V), dated 29.05.2026, and the letter No. 1047(64)/Secy-BCW dated 29.06.2026 issued by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal. The following procedure will be followed:
    • Applications in the general category will be arranged in order of merit including the students of SC/ST/OBC/EWS category, if any.
    • If the SC Candidates fall short of the reserved quota, the vacancies will be filled up by the ST candidates. If the OBC candidates fall short of the reserved quota, the vacancies will be filled up by the general category candidates and vice versa. If the EWS candidates fall short of the reserved quota, the vacancies will be filled up by the general category candidates and vice versa. If after this exercise, reserved seats still remain unfilled due to non-availability of reserved category candidates, such seats shall be taken up for de-reservation and after getting approval from concerned authority the vacancies will be filled up by the candidates of general category.
  • Candidates holding degrees from Foreign Universities would be considered eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Courses provided if-
    (a) They have Honours or equivalent degree from a recognized Foreign University or,
    (b) They have Under-Graduate degree in that particular subject as major one from a recognized Foreign University.
    The matter may be referred to the Equivalence Committee of the University and its decision would be treated as final. Normally, overlapping of academic session may not be permitted in deciding admission. For any difficulties regarding admission of students from Foreign University the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dakshin Dinajpur University, would be requested to give a decision.
  • However, when a case of admission of students from Foreign University is related to the implementation of Bilateral Academic Exchange programme of the Govt. of India with foreign countries the candidate and the concerned Government would be informed of the difficulties likely to be faced by the candidate under such circumstances and the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dakshin Dinajpur University, would be requested to give a decision.
  • Weightage for NSS:
    For the NSS Awardees the following percentage of marks will be given as incentives at the time of admission:

  • Applications for admission to the P.G. Courses subject to the fulfillment of the requisite qualification, of the Widows / Wards of the armed forces personnel killed / disabled in action or during peace time and of Kashmiri migrant students will be considered in pursuance of UGC letter No.F1-53 / 98 (CPP II) dated December, 2004 and UGC D.O. No.1-13/2010(CPPII) dated 20.03.2018 respectively. Admission of such candidates, if any, shall be finalized with the approval of the Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, Dakshin Dinajpur University.
  • The concession for the Wards of Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandit / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmir valley for admission in Higher Educational Institutions as per the letter vide F.No. 3-4/2017-NER Dated 15th October 2019 from the Sr. Economic Advisor (Higher Education), MHRD, Govt. of India, will be considered for admission.
  • Displaced Bhutanese students may be considered for admission as directed by U.G.C. in terms of the resolution of the Faculty Council, dated 12.07.2004.
  • If any problem arises regarding the interpretation of any item/part of the selection principles the matter shall be referred to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor.
  • The merit list (generated by Software Vendor) will be published only on the online admission portal of the University (i.e. www.dduniv.ac.in & www.dduexam.net ).
