List of Selected Candidates for Admission to Ph.D. Program in July 2026 Cycle

The list of selected candidates (for the Regular candidates with Institute Fellowship, Individual Fellowship, Sponsored Research Project, Sponsored Category, and Self-Sponsored Category) along with a waiting list for admission to Ph.D. programme July Cycle 2026 has been published along with this Notification.

The candidates (for the Regular candidates with Institute Fellowship, Individual Fellowship, Sponsored Research Project, Sponsored Category, and Self-Sponsored Category) selected for admission in the Ph.D. program of July Cycle 2026 are required to report to the Office of the Dean (Academic), IIEST, Shibpur, on July 20-21, 2026 (11:00 A.M. to 03:00 P.M.), to take admission in physical mode.

The list of self-attested photocopies/originals of the following documents must be submitted during the admission process.

  • Self-attested photocopies of mark-sheets certificates of the following academic degrees
    a) Secondary (10 level),
    b) Higher Secondary (10+2 level) / Diploma in Engineering,
    c) Under Graduate (B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. / B.Sc. / B.A. etc.).
    d) Post Graduate (M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Sc. / M.A. / MBA etc.)
  • GATE/NET/DST Inspire score card / award letter; if applicable.
    [Regular candidates with Institute Fellowship category must have a valid GATE (score above the prescribed cut off level)/NET score as applicable for admission to doctoral programmes in various disciplines]
  • Proof of Date of Birth
  • Category Certificate (if applicable) and PwD certificate (if applicable) from a competent authority.
    [OBC-NCL/EWS certificate issued on or after April 1, 2026 will only be accepted during physical document verification]
  • NOC in the prescribed format for the Sponsored Category and Self-Sponsored Category (if employed).
  • The candidates pursuing Master's Degree must submit a course completion certificate at the time of admission. Otherwise, the candidature will be cancelled.
  • Blood group report from pathological laboratory.
  • Passport size photo (2 copies).
The candidates must bring the original documents for the verification purpose.

Only successful verified candidates will be eligible for admission and they need to pay requisite fees as per the following table. The amount may be deposited to UCO Bank, BESU Branch through bank challan. The bank transfer may be available during admission.
  Gen, OBC, EWS, PWD candidates admitted through Institute/Government Fellowship SC and ST candidates admitted through Institute/Government Fellowship Sponsored and selfsponsored candidates

After the admission, the candidates should join the respective Department/School/Center immediately.
The Ph.D. enrolment form required for admission will be available during the physical admission process.

5 Formation of RPEC and sending the forms to the Office of Dean (Academic) for getting approval of the Chairman, SPGC July 30 - August 05, 2026
6 Allotment of course work by the RPEC followed by approval of the Chairman, SPGC August 07, 2026
