As per the guidelines issued in the Ph.D. Admission Brochure for Academic Session 2026-27, Admission to the Ph.D. programme in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University shall be through a Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the University or any designated agency by the University in the relevant disciplines of study. However, as per Clause 2.2 & 2.3 of the admission brochure, the applicants may apply for exemption from the entrance test, as reproduced below:

2.2 Those students, who have qualified for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET /GATE/CEED and other similar National Level Tests, shall be exempted from the entrance test conducted by the University for admission to the Ph.D. programme. The merit list of such candidates will be prepared on the basis of Interview/Viva-voce and scaled up to 100 marks.

2.3. Those students, who have obtained valid NET Score in accordance with the UGC circular no. F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee/2024(NET)/1406-48 dated 27.3.24, shall also be exempted from the entrance test conducted by the University for admission to the Ph.D. programme.

As per the Ph.D. Admission brochure, Last date for submission of documents by candidates requesting exemption from PET at the office of Dean of respective University Schools of Study through offline mode/ email is 15.04.2026.

Candidates seeking PET exemption for admission in Ph.D. at University School of Environment Management (USEM) should submit self-attested documents, offline to the Dean USEM's Secretariat or via email (dean.usem@ipu.ac.in), before the deadline f.e. 15.04.2026 citing clauses 2.2 or 2.3.
