***50% marks in graduation or post-graduation degree shall not apply for persons appointed as teachers prior to the commencement of the National Council for Teacher Education (Regulations, Norms and Procedure) second Amendment Regulation 2010.
Only those teachers who are teaching in class V to XII are eligible under Deputed category.
In order to be considered under the deputed category the teachers from Secondary/Higher Secondary schools affiliated to W.B.B.S.E./W.B.C.H.S.E. must produce a copy of the appointment letter from the District Inspector of Schools and a No Objection Certificate from the Managing Committee of the school duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools (
The Managing Committee must clearly certify whether or not the teacher teaches in class V to XII), at the time of admission. Jadavpur University will not take the responsibility of disbursement of deputation allowance.
All applicants must have completed results at Bachelors (Honours) and/ or Masters level and also passed in all papers.
If a student’s marks in any particular examination at any level increases after review of his/her result for that examination by the concerned Institute/University after the last date of submission of online application (30/09/2026), such additional marks shall not be considered hereafter and at the time of verification/admission.
The available method subject groups are Humanities, Science & Social Science. The final selection of method subject will be done after admission.
For PD category:
Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category under RPD Act, 2016.
For SC/ ST category:
As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and 1465–BCW/MR–67/10 dt.30/04/2010 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.
For OBC Category:
The reservation for OBC category in the admission process will be carried forward as per the order of Govt. of West Bengal, order no- 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18th May 2026.
Candidates provisionally selected under OBC category should submit a valid NCL certificate (issued by competent authority) which should not be earlier than 18th May, 2026.
OBC candidates from the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.
For E.W.S. Category:
Reservation under Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) will be as per notification no. 339-Edn (CS)/OM-74L/2023 dated 26th May, 2023 from Government of West Bengal.
The EWS certificate of 2026-27 financial year is only valid for admission in this academic session.
Anti-Ragging:
It is being brought to the notice of all concerned that Ragging is not only a social evil but also a penal offence. Any student/s indulging in ragging of any student/s including freshers during admission/interview and/or subsequently at the hostel or in the class or in the corridors or anywhere inside and outside of the campus, shall be severely dealt with on pain of punishment ranging from loss of academic year/loss of hostel boardership to expulsion from the university itself. Reporting to the Police Station may also be made in addition to the above punishment. The University is to follow all the directives of the “UGC REGULATION ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009 under the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
