Admission to One-Year Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication for session 2025-26

Announcement of admission for One-Year Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication for session 2025-26 offered by Department of Adult Continuing Education & Extension (DACEE).

Online applications are invited from Indian citizens. Application form & relevant instructions will be available from our website www.jaduniv.edu.in or admission.jdvu.ac.in from 30/10/2025.
Last date for online application is 01/12/2025.

Eligibility: Graduate from a recognised University
SC/ST/OBC A/OBC B/PD/EWS reservation as per State Government rule.
Class Hour: 05:30 P.M. to 08:30 P.M.
Course Fee: Rs. 20,000/-.

Eligibility Criteria
3-Year Graduation degree from a recognised University
  • Students appeared/appearing for final year examination, 2025 may also apply, but provisionally selected candidates will have to submit their final Graduation mark sheet before taking admission.
  • For candidates under SC/ST Quota:
    As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal unless they can produce Domicile Certificate for residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years issued by the competent authority.
  • For candidates under OBC Quota:
    The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC-A and OBC-B categories must produce an OBC certificate as per Gazette notification No. 1106-BCW/MR-33/2025 dated 3rd June, 2025 and 917-BCW/MR-33/2025 dated 8th May, 2025 issued by Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal.
    OBC-A and OBC-B candidates of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless they can produce a domicile certificate of 10-year residency issued by competent authority.
  • For Candidates under PD category:
    Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category under PWD (Equal Opportunity, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 2016.
For E.W.S category:
  • Reservation under Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) will be as per notification no. 339-Edn (CS)/OM-74L/2023 dated 26th May, 2023 from Government of West Bengal.
  • The EWS certificate of 2025-26 financial year is only valid for admission in this academic session.
Selection Procedure
  • Selection will be made on the basis of written test only. Admission test will be conducted in MCQ mode.
  • Admission test will be conducted on the basis of General Knowledge, current affairs and fundamental knowledge of Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Print Media, Audio-Visual media and New media.
  • Date of admission test: 13/12/2025 at 02:00 P.M. at JU Main Campus.
  • Reservation rules of the State Government will be followed.

Course Fees for Post Graduate Diploma in Mass communication: Rs. 20,000/-

Anti-Ragging: It is being brought to the notice of all concerned that Ragging is not only a social evil but also a penal offence. Any student/s indulging in ragging of any student/s including freshers during admission / interview and / or subsequently at the hostel or in the class or in the corridors or anywhere inside and outside of the campus, shall be severely dealt with on pain of punishment ranging from loss of academic year / loss of hostel boardership to expulsion from the university itself. Reporting to the Police Station may also be made in addition to the above punishment. The University is to follow all the directives of the “UGC REGULATION ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009 under the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
