Admission to B.A. (Hons.) Courses against vacant seats, 2026-27

• The Waiting Lists are provisional and is subject to:
  • fulfilling the eligibility criteria as notified earlier.
  • verification of the equivalence of marks/degrees from other Boards/Councils to those of the West Bengal council of Higher Secondary Education /Other equivalent Board/Council, wherever applicable.
  • correction in the merit position due to error, if any
• All admissions are provisional.
• Those candidates who have already been admitted to any autonomous college/institution or college/institution affiliated to other universities
  • in a Bachelor’s Course in the current session (2026- 27), shall be required to produce a withdrawal/cancellation certificate from the college/institution concerned at the time of counselling/admission to this university. If they are unable to submit it at the time of counselling/admission, they may apply to the Principal Secretary, Faculty of Arts for extension of time. Under no circumstances such candidates will be allowed to submit the “withdrawal certificate/ cancellation certificate” after 7 days after admission, failing of which his/her admission shall be cancelled;
  • in a Bachelor’s Course in the session 2025- 26 or before, shall be required to submit an affidavit (on a Non-Judicial Stamp Paper) at the time of counselling/admission to this university that that s/he will be de-registering from that course. Proof of application of de-registration/cancellation from the course concerned must be submitted within 7 days after admission, failing of which her/his admission will be cancelled.
• Those candidates who have completed their 10+2 in 2025 or before but have NOT taken admission in any undergraduate course, must submit an affidavit (on a Non-Judicial Stamp Paper) that they are not registered in any other day course anywhere/elsewhere, failing of which her/his admission will be cancelled.
• If a candidate fails to appear on the specified date and at the specified time for admission, the next candidate in order of merit will be considered for admission.

• Venue: Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall (Ground Floor, U.G Arts Building, Jadavpur University, Kolkata-32).
• Verification / Admission Process:
  Names of candidates in the provisional waiting lists will be called on 25/08/2026 at the time mentioned above. If any candidate fails to turn up when his/her name is called the seat will be offered to the next candidate in the merit list and that candidate shall NOT be allowed to take admission to this course later.
• CLASSES HAVE ALREADY STARTED. STUDENTS ARE THEREFORE ADVISED TO ATTEND CLASSES IMMEDIATELYAFTER ADMISSION.
