Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or equivalent with at least 50% marks
(45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST/PD).
Or
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Health and Physical Education with at least 50% marks
(45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST/PD).

A candidate who has appeared or due to appear in the B.P.Ed. Final Year/Semester Examination 2026, within 1st July, 2026 may also apply, provided he/she fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria (as given above) in the earlier parts/semesters (PART I examination or semesters up to the Final semester) together. For such a candidate the latest available marks in B.P.Ed. in semester system/ annual system of examination will be considered. Such a candidate, if provisionally selected for admission, shall have to produce a certificate in the prescribed format (click here ) that his/her B.P.Ed. Final Examination has been completed on or before July 31, 2026, at the time of verification/admission.

They have to submit the final mark-sheet of B.P.Ed. course within 31/08/2026.

An applicant shall not be considered for admission (even if provisionally selected after the practical & written admission test) if he/she is already enrolled in a regular day course or equivalent in any other University/Institute or in any department of Jadavpur University.

Candidates who do not satisfy the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission, even if he/she is provisionally selected for admission by mistake.

All applicants have to be produced admit card, 2 copy photograph and all the original mark-sheets & certificates for verification on the day of admission test.

The applicants must produce recent fitness certificate (click here ) from a registered Medical Practitioner at the time of admission test, otherwise he/she will not be allowed for admission test. Selected candidates will be required to submit another fitness certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner at the time of reporting on the day for the M.P.Ed. course.
For candidates under SC/ST category:
As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and 1465–BCW/MR–67/10 dt.30/04/2010 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal unless they can produce Domicile Certificate for residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years issued by the
competent authority .
For candidates under OBC category:
The reservation for OBC category in the admission process will be carried forward as per the order of Govt. of West Bengal, order no-45-BCW/MR23/2026 dated 18th May 2026.
Candidates provisionally selected under OBC category should submit a valid NCL certificate (issued by competent authority) which should not be earlier than 18th May, 2026.
OBC candidates from the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.
For Candidates under PD category:
Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category under PWD (Equal Opportunity, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 2016.
It is being brought to the notice of all concerned that Ragging is not only a social evil but also a penal offence. Any student/s indulging in ragging of any student/s including freshers during admission / interview and / or subsequently at the hostel or in the class or in the corridors or anywhere inside and outside of the campus, shall be severely dealt with on pain of punishment ranging from loss of academic year / loss of hostel boardership to expulsion from the university itself. Reporting to the Police Station may also be made in addition to the above punishment. The University is to follow all the directives of the “UGC REGULATION ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009 under the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
