Admission to Ph.D. (Science) Programme for the session 2026-27

Applications are invited from eligible Indian Nationals who have already qualified in NET / SET / GATE etc. examinations and have eligibility for admission to the Ph.D.(Science) degree as per J.U. Ph.D. Regulation 2024 in the departments of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geological Scs., Geography, Life Sc. & Biotechnology and Instrumentation Sc. under the Faculty of Science, Jadavpur University for the session 2026-27. Please read the following instructions for details:

• All applicants must have possessed at least 2-years M.Sc. or equivalent degree from any University or Institute recognized by the UGC with requisite marks as per J.U. Ph.D. Regulation 2024.
• Candidate should apply downloading the application form available from the website (www.jadavpuruniversity.in ).
• Candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- (per subject) online through SBI Collect system using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking etc. The payment portal will be opened from 24/06/2026 at 04:00 P.M. and it will be continued till 08/07/2026 upto 11:00 P.M.
• Candidates have to submit the filled-in application to the Office of Dean & Secretary, Ph.D. Cell, Faculty of Science, TEQIP Building (Ground Floor, Room-106), Jadavpur University along with the following testimonials:
  • one passport size photograph duly affixed in the application form
  • attested copies of all mark-sheets and certificates from Madhyamik onwards,
  • admit card / certificate of Madhyamik for age verification
  • SC / ST / PD / OBC-A / OBC-B Certificate from competent authority, (where applicable),
  • NET / SET / GATE certificates etc.
  • receipt of online payment of application fee
  • filled-in consent form (optional) duly signed by the Supervisor, Director (in case of affiliated institute) and HOD of the concerned Department of Jadavpur University.
• Employed candidates have to fill the NOC portion of the form, duly authenticated by the competent authority.
• Filled-in application form for Ph.D. (Science) programme 2026-27 will be received upto 9^th July, 2026 till 05:00 P.M.
• Format of Consent form of Supervisor will be available with this notice (optional).
• Institutional fellowship is not available.
• The date of Interview will be notified in due course.
• Admission of the candidate shall depend upon the consent of the supervisor to be allotted.

• Notification for WRET (Written Entrance Test) will be notified later.
• **Application form completed in all respect will only be considered. Incomplete application will be rejected summarily.
