Admission to Certificate Course on Skill Development Training on Electrical Installation, Repairing, Maintenance & Safety Practices, 2026 (not equivalent to any university degree)

Course Name: Skill Development Training on Electrical Installation, Repairing, Maintenance & Safety Practices [This is a certificate course (not equivalent to a university degree)].

Duration: One Year

Number of Seats: 50

The aforementioned evening course will be conducted at Jadavpur University by an experienced faculty, and certificates will be awarded to students upon successful completion of the program. The syllabus of this course is designed to be beneficial for obtaining a license from the Electrical Licensing Board, for handling all types of electrical work in various industrial sectors, offices, and buildings, as well as for facilitating self-employment.

Applicants must have passed at least the 10th grade examination or an equivalent qualification.

There is no age limit.

Theoretical and practical instruction will be provided in Bengali or English.

Course Days and Timings: Two days per week (Mondays and Saturdays).
Training will also be provided on Wednesdays or Thursdays, if necessary.

Practical and theoretical classes will be held on Saturdays starting at 03:00 P.M., and on other days starting at 06:00 P.M.

The total course fee (inclusive of GST) of Rs. 22,000/- (Twenty-two Thousand Rupees) must be submitted as a one-time payment in the form of a bank draft. The draft must be drawn in favor of "Jadavpur University." No refund of the course fee will be granted if a student discontinues the course at any point during its duration.

Application forms will be available from the office of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Jadavpur University (2nd floor) and from the university websites (http://www.jaduniv.edu.in or https://jadavpuruniversity.in).

A photocopy of the Class 10 marksheet, admit card or certificate, and Aadhaar card must be submitted along with the application form to the Engineering Department office (2nd floor) by 05:00 P.M. on June 15, 2026.

Eligible candidates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
Admissions will remain open on a first-come, first-served basis until all seats are filled. Seat capacity: A maximum of 50 candidates.
If the minimum required number of candidates (25) is not met, this course will be deemed cancelled, and the draft of Rs. 22,000/- will be refunded.
