Notification for Lateral Exit after completion of 3rd year from 4-year UG courses under NEP
It is notified for information of all concerned that the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor has kindly approved the lateral exit after completion of 3rd year from 4-year B.A.(Hons.)/B.Sc.(Hons.)/B.Com.(Hons.)/B.B.A courses as per NEP, 2020 with the following guidelines.

A student who has cleared all the papers of 1st to 6th semester, has fulfilled the minimum 120-credit requirement and has successfully completed internship (minimum of 2-4 credits and of 60-120 hours duration) can only apply for lateral Exit. S/he will get a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) / Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree as per the UGC nomenclature.

A student who has cleared all the papers of 1st to 4th semester may also opt for lateral Exit, provided s/he has fulfilled the minimum 120-credit requirement and has successfully completed internship (minimum of 2-4 credits and of 60-120 hours duration).

S/he will have to appear for Supplementary Examinations for the subjects/papers of 3rd year 5th semester & 3rd year 6th Semesters only in which the student has failed.

S/he will be allowed lateral Exit and be awarded a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) / Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) / Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) / Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) degree as per the UGC nomenclature, only after successfully clearing her/his back papers in the aforesaid Special Supplementary Examinations or in the Repeat Examinations in subsequent relevant years as per the Jadavpur University Examination Rule.

Course completion certificate will be provided to the students who want to apply for lateral Exit after 3rd year, after the completion of the 3rd Year 6th Semester examination.

Provisional certificate will also be provided to the students who will opt for lateral Exit after 3rd year subject to fulfillment of criteria as specified in 1 or 2 as the case may be.

A student must apply for Exit option after publication of 6th$ semester result and subject to fulfillment of all the criteria as specified in (1) above, to the Muster Roll section in the prescribed format and duly forwarded by the Head of the concerned department. The last date of application for Exit option should be before the commencement of 7th semester examination.

A student who fulfill all the criteria as specified in 2(a) above, must also apply to the Muster Roll section in the prescribed format and duly forwarded by the Head of the concerned department after publication of 6th semester result. But, for these students, the last date of application for Exit option should be before the Special Supplementary Examinations meant for them, as specified in 2(b) above, or before a stipulated date as may be set by the relevant authority in due course of time.
