Provisional list of candidates selected for enrolment to The Ph.D. Programme, 2025-2026

• Enrolment of the candidates as per provisional selection list are subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria as notified earlier and verification of original documents as listed below.
• All applicants must have completed results of MA or equivalent.
• All applicants must have 2-Year MA or equivalent degree from any university/institute recognized by the UGC.
• Applicants who have obtained an MA or equivalent degree of less than two (2) years’ duration, must have completed at least a total of five (5) years of undergraduate and post-graduate study in a recognized university/institute.
• An applicant, even if provisionally selected as per the lists below, shall not be considered for admission if at the time of verification of relevant documents, it is found that he/she is already enrolled/registered in any other degree or equivalent course at Jadavpur University or in any other university/institute/college; a Declaration in this regard needs to be submitted at the time of registration in/admission to the Ph.D. programme.
• As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1,D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCWdt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal unless they can produce Domicile Certificate for residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years issued by the competent authority.
• The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC- A and OBC- B categories must produce an OBC certificate as per Gazette Notification No. 1106-BCW/MR-33/2025 dated 3rd June, 2025 and 917-BCW/MR-33/2025 dated 8th May, 2025 issued by Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal. OBC-A and OBC-B candidates of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless they can produce a domicile certificate of 10-year residency issued by competent authority.
• Reporting and Verification of Documents: As per schedule given below.

• All mark-sheets and (preferably) certificates of all examinations passed or degree obtained
• Age Proof
• SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PD/EWS certificate (where applicable)
• NET/SET/GATE certificate (where applicable)
• Migration Certificate from the University last attended (where applicable)
• No Objection Certificate from the employer (where applicable)

• Declaration that he/she is not Registered for any other degree course (Annexure-I)
  (to be submitted in the Rs. 10/- non-judicial stamp paper duly certified by the Notary Public)
• Declaration regarding employment status (Annexure-II)

Schedule for Payment of Registration Fees: At Cash Section, Aurobindo Building.

Registration Fees (as mentioned hereunder) must be paid (in full) on the date of admission AFTER verification / submission of all documents as mentioned above. Receipt of the registration fee paid must be submitted on the same day.

Registration fee to be paid by all admitted Ph.D. scholar in PhD programmes, 2025-2026 irrespective of his/her employment and scholarship status, be Rs. 25,000/-.

IF DOCUMENTS ARE NOT VERIFIED AND REGISTRATION FEES ARE NOT PAID AS PER THE SCHEDULE GIVEN IN THE EARLIER PAGE THE PROVISIONAL OFFER FOR ADMISSION TO THE PH.D. (ARTS) PROGRAMME SHALL STAND CANCELLED.
