Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to B.Ed. Programme for the session 2026-2027 in the Department of Education, University of Kalyani.

INTAKE: 50 (Fifty)

ELIGIBILITY:

• Candidates should be Graduate in a school subject from a recognized University.
• Candidates with at least 50% marks either in bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree in School subjects.
• Bachelors in Engineering or Technology / B.C.A. / M.C.A. with Science and / or Mathematics as subject with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission.
• Fresher should have at least 50% (fifty) marks either in bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree in school subject. For Master’s Degree Programme of two years duration will be considered for scoring.
• For candidates, in case of Honours/Major Graduates in school subject, the marks obtained in Honours/Major subject will be considered.
• In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects will be considered.
• For fresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each pedagogy subject based on scoring.
• Age limit for Fresher is 37 years as on 01.07.2026. There is no age limit for Deputed teachers.
• In case of deputed candidates, tenure of service will be considered for preparing merit list.
• Relaxation of marks and Reservation of seats for SC/ST/PWD (Minimum disability 40%) candidates will be as per State Govt. Rules.

  	Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Physical Science, Life Science, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Commerce, Education and Other Subjects (Not mentioned in the above subjects)

• Medium of instruction: Bengali / English.
• The B.Ed. Programme shall be duration of two academic sessions and having 4 semesters.
• 95% of seat intake will be reserved for Fresh Candidates and 5 % for untrained in-service / Deputed school teachers of classes V to XII.
• The intake ratio for home University and other Universities shall be 80:20.
• Out of total seats in the fresh category, 80% are meant for the student of the Kalyani University and 20% for the students other than Kalyani University students. Students of Kalyani University mean those who possess current Registration Certificate of the Kalyani University and have not migrated from this University.

• For scoring in H.S., the marks obtained in the best five subjects will be considered.
• Deputed Teachers (as per NCTE norms) from recognized Secondary & Higher Secondary School of West Bengal are eligible to apply.
• For Deputed Candidates:
  Deputed applicants must submit an attested copy of M.C. resolution of the approval of her / his service with the online application form and must submit NOC at the time of admission

• Release order from the Headmaster / Headmistress.
• Attested copy of MC resolution with regards to her / his deputation.
• Three copies of passport size photographs of the applicant.
• Deputation form duly filled in (available from the Institution after admission).
• A certificate with the following information is to be submitted from the Secretary or Headmaster / Headmistress (Where she / he is serving) and counter signed by the D.I. of School of the District concerned.
  a) Certified that the school is in receipt of aid on full / deficit / lumpsum grant basis or that school in unaided or salary deficit scheme one.
  b) Certified that she / he is duly approved teacher.
  c) Certified that she / he is first / school candidate being deputed by the school for training in.
