Guidelines for 7th Semester Enrollment

In reference to the above subject, with partial amendment to the notification issued via office letter no. D.S.W/67/26 dated 11.06.2026, and in light of NEP-2020, the Ordinance & Regulation issued by the Governor’s Secretariat, Lok Bhawan, Patna via letter no. BSU(UGC)-02/2023(Part)-1107/GS(I) dated 05.06.2026 for the Undergraduate session 2023-27 (CBCS curriculum) provides the following guidelines regarding the enrollment of students who passed the 6th Semester into the 7th Semester:

1. Students who passed the 6th Semester and have a CGPA of 7.5 or higher (from Semester I to VI) can opt for a Research topic/subject in the final 8th Semester. They will be awarded a degree of "Honours with Research".
2. Students having a CGPA below 7.5 will study 3 courses worth 4 credits in the final 8th Semester to receive an Undergraduate Honours degree.
3. If any student with a CGPA higher than 7.5 (from Semester I to VI) chooses not to opt for the Research subject mentioned above, they will also be awarded an Undergraduate Honours degree.
4. Students who do not wish to enroll in the 7th Semester (i.e., wish to conclude their undergraduate studies) must forward an application to the University through their respective college. After depositing the fee prescribed by the University, they will be granted their degree.
5. To receive an Undergraduate Honours degree, completing an Internship in the 5th Semester is mandatory.
