Important instructions to the candidates appearing for the Ph.D. Entrance Test / Interview - 2025-26
I. For University Departments
Date: 10.00 am to 11.30 am; 26/09/2025, Friday
Entrance Test Venue: Departments concerned, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar
Interview Date: 26/09/2025, Friday, Departments concerned
- The Entrance Test for applicants for admission to all Ph.D. programmes will be held on Friday, 26/09/2025
- Candidates will not be allowed to attend the Entrance test / Interview without valid Hall Ticket
- Entrance test will be of MCQ type (Multiple Choice Questions) at Post-Graduate level comprising of 70 MCQs
- It will consist of 50 Questions related to Respective Subject and 20 Questions related to Research Methodology, General Knowledge, Aptitude and Reasoning
- The duration of the test is 90 minutes with a total of 70 marks. There is no negative marking
- After completing the examination, the candidates have to immediately attend the interview for 30 marks which will be held in the respective departments.
- Candidates with M.Phil. Degree from an approved University and UGC-JRF/NET/SLET/SET/GATE/CSIR/ICHR/ICPR/ICSSR qualified candidates and teacher fellowship holders are exempted from the entrance test but they have to appear directly for the interview.
- The candidates who secure 50% marks in entrance test and interview put together are eligible for admission.
- A relaxation of 5% marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layer)/Differently abled category.
- All the original certificates are to be produced for verification at the time of Interview.
- Two sets of photo copies of the all the certificates are to be handed over to the Head of the Department concerning during interview
- Admission will not be granted to candidates who do not fulfill the prescribed qualification as given in the University Ph.D. regulations
- Grant of admission to selected candidates is subject to the final decision of the University
- Candidate are advised to check the University website periodically for updates. All the communications
will be sent to the candidates only through their registered email and/or through SMS to their registered
mobile number.
Candidates can download the Hall Ticket for the Entrance Test three days prior to the test date
II. For Affiliated Colleges
Date: 10.00 am to 11.30 am; 26/09/2025, Friday

Interview Date: 26/09/2025, Friday
