  • In case any seat falls vacant due to non-availability of state domicile un-reserved candidates, it will be filled up by non-domicile candidates (if any) on the basis of Merit list.
  • The number of seats may change subject to availability of eligible teacher/Chairman, Advisory Committee in each Department.
  • 02 Seats shall be reserved for Kashmiri migrants over and above the normal student intake.
  • SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates of outside the state of West Bengal shall be treated as General category candidates.
  • Foreign students will be admitted following University Guideline only.

# No application form without payment of fee will be considered.
# Only PWD candidates whose disability percentage are 40% or above, are exempted from application fees. However, there is no PWD seat separately in any department and will be treated as per their respective caste category.


Eligibility Criteria:
  • Students passed with three years Bachelors’ degree course are NOT ELIGIBLE.
  • The minimum age limit for admission to M.Sc. courses is 21 years as on 31/12/2026.
  • Candidates must have passed their Bachelors’ degree in Agriculture / Horticulture or Forestry or have appeared in final examination in the relevant subject under four year Agriculture / Horticulture / Forestry undergraduate programme from any recognized Indian / Foreign University.
  • Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks or its equivalent OGPA (6.00 out of 10.00 or 3.40 out of 5.00 or 2.70 out of 4.00 or 2.00 out of 3.00) in Bachelors’ degree for Unreserved and OBC category and 55% marks or its equivalent OGPA (5.50 out of 10.00 or 3.20 out of 5.00 or 2.50 out of 4.00 or 1.80 out of 3.00) in Bachelors’ degree for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidates of Unreserved and OBC categories must have passed their Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate of 5 (five) best subjects including English as compulsory and for SC/ST category candidates the same shall be 50% marks in aggregate of 5 (five) best subjects including English as compulsory.

Preparation of Merit List:
The final admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit and according to the position in the merit list.
The score shall be calculated taking into account the following academic records and shall be expressed in percentile score-

Percentage of Graduation Marks
(at the time of entrance test, submission of final transcript is compulsory, failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled)

10% of Graduation percentage will be added with it for UBKV pass outs only
Documents required during Application Process:
Scanned copy of the following documents/images, as applicable, must be uploaded on online admission portal while applying-
  • Passport size photograph of the candidates (Format: jpg, Size 20 kb -100 kb).
  • Signature of the candidates (Format: jpg, Size 20 kb -50 kb).
  • Self-attested copy of proof of date of birth i.e., either Birth certificate from competent authority or admit card of Madhyamik / equivalent (10th) examination (Format: jpg/pdf, Size 200 kb -300 kb).
  • Self-attested copies of both sides of the mark sheet of Higher Secondary / equivalent (10+2) examination (Format: jpg/pdf, Size 200 kb -300 kb).
  • Self-attested copies of both sides of the mark sheets of all eight semesters of Bachelors’ Degree examination (Format: jpg/pdf, Size 200 kb -300 kb)
  • Self-attested copies of both sides of the final transcript (if available) of Bachelors’ Degree examination (Format: jpg/pdf, Size 200 kb -300 kb).
  • Self-attested copy of caste/category certificate (Format:jpg/pdf, Size 200 kb -300 kb).
  • Candidates belonging to OBC category are instructed to bring original OBC NonCreamy Layer Certificate and original caste certificate [they must submit Non-creamy layer certificate issued on or after 01.04.2026 along with the revalidated OBC certificate of the Competent Authority as per recent guidelines of Govt. of West Bengal].
  • EWS Certificate MUST BE issued on or after 01/04/2026.
  • Self-attested copy of domicile certificate (for candidates belongs to West Bengal) as per the format available in the admission portal or website of the University (Format: jpg/pdf, Size 200 kb -300 kb).

# Hostel accommodation will be provided as per availability of room(s) in the hostel. University is not liable to provide hostel to all the admitted students from very beginning of the study programme.

Guideline for Entrance Test for admission to M.Sc. Agriculture / M.Sc. Horticulture / M.Sc. Forestry for the Session 2026-27
M.Sc. entrance test will be conducted module wise (following ICAR AIEEA PG Major Subject Group) for Faculty of Agriculture and Horticulture from the session2026-27.

  • Duration of the Test – 1 hour; Total marks – 70.
  • Questions pattern: MCQ type Questions with four alternatives, each of 1 mark (70x1=70).
  • There will be negative marks for MCQ is 0.25 for each wrong answer.
  • The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Higher Secondary (marks of 5 bestsubjects including English as compulsory), B.Sc. and Entrance test.
