Candidates who have completed:
A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.

or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.

Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.

Relaxation as per UGC norms will be provided wherever applicable.

• Admission to the Ph.D. Programmes will be made through a written test and Interview. A design background is not essential and applicants from other disciplines are welcome.
• An applicant will be short listed for interview (step 2) on the basis of his/ her score in the written exam (step 1) conducted by the university.

Note: Students who have cleared any PhD entrance exam recognized by UGC, or National Level tests like UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED etc. or any other University’s PhD or equivalent entrance test will directly go to Step 2.

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria, are required to fill the admission form with required documents of all particulars to be attached. All application forms will be screened by a separate screening committee whose representatives will be from Doctoral Research Committee and Experts from the University in the respective areas. The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and relevant experience will appear in a written examination to be conducted by the University.

Interested candidates would send in an application along with required documents to the Chair of the Ph.D. program at phd@wud.ac.in.
The documentation required consists of-

• Filled & scanned Application form (downloaded from www.wud.ac.in) with scanned copies of documents in support of eligibility.
• A typed 500 word detailed statement of the proposed research project.
• Copy of Curriculum vitae
• A portfolio of creative works, if relevant

• Phase-1: Submission of Application Form
• Phase-2: Acceptance by World University of Design
  After acceptance of the form, the admission process will be as follows
  • Stage 1 - Written test – (Basic understanding of research)
  • Stage 2 - Interview – (Power point presentation)
  *The 2nd stage of the admission process will be offered to those candidates who clear the stage 1 with merit
• Phase-3: Selection for Doctoral Program
  Once you are selected for the PhD Program at World University of Design, an offer letter will be sent, you would need to deposit the applicable fee for commencement of your Program.
• Phase-4: Course Work (Full time/Part time)
  • Course work is mandatory for all the selected candidates for Ph.D. program and is required to be completed within one year of enrollment.
  • Minimum 75% Aggregate attendance is mandatory for the course work.
  • The evaluation parameters will be as per university guidelines.
• Phase-5: Finalization and Approval of Research Proposal
  This commences immediately after a candidate successfully completes the course work (i.e., Phase 4).
• Phase-6: Progress Review Seminars
  All researcher scholars must submit the research progress report every semester to the Doctoral Committee.
• Phase-7: Synopsis Submission and Approval
  The Doctoral Committee Shall approve the research work done that may progress to synopsis submission and subsequently the doctoral committee will approve the synopsis to progress to preparation of thesis report.

  (B) Thesis Evaluation
  (C) Ph.D. Defence Viva-Voce
  (D) Award of Degree
