Admission/Registration in B.Tech. Programs through WBJEE-2026 Counseling for Academic Year of 2026-27

Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology, Malda — a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) established under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India! In this A.Y. of 2026-27, GKCIET Malda offers AICTE approved B. Tech programs (4 years duration) in (i) Electrical Engineering, (ii) Food Technology, (iii) Mechanical Engineering, (iv) Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), (v) Civil and Environmental Engineering. The academic programs are currently affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), W.B. However, the Institute is in the process of being upgraded to the status of Deemed-to-be-University.

The admission criteria are:

• Rank Card in WBJEE-2026.
• Candidates are further advised to check the eligibility criteria from WBJEE-2026 Information Bulletin available at https://wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee and also from West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Counselling Notification. They must ensure that they satisfy the criteria, prior to the application for admission. Students should remain alert about revised admission criteria (if any) as announced by WBJEEB/MAKAUT.

• The following documents are to be submitted physically during reporting for admission. The dates of physical reporting in the various round will be strictly as per the schedule given on WBJEEB portal

  v	Migration Certificate (for such candidate who passed their qualifying exam before the year of 2026 and/or had admitted for their higher study in any Institute / College / University etc.) or a declaration in a Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- by the Candidate and Parents/Guardian mentioning not pursuing any higher study or Migration Certificate is to be submitted (if applied for the same or not available).   vi	Admit Card of Secondary or equivalent examination. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  vii	Mark-sheet of Secondary or equivalent examination. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  viii	Certificate of Secondary or equivalent examination. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  ix	Admit Card of H.S. or equivalent examination. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  x	Mark-sheet of H.S. or equivalent examination. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  xi	Certificate of H.S. or equivalent examination. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  xii	Address Proof/Domicile Certificate from the Competent Authority as per Appendix-1 or 2 or 3 of WBJEE-2026 Information Bulletin. (Annexure-III ) (Original document and one self-attested copy)
  xiii	Aadhar Card of the Candidate. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  xiv	Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority for candidates those are allotted under category of SC/ST/OBC-NCL (as per standard format). For OBC-NCL, certificate should be issued/renewed on/after 01/04/2026. EWS certificate should be of 2025-26 financial year. (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  xv	Physically Challenged Certificate issued by the competent authority for candidates those are allotted under category of PwD or UDID Card (as per standard format). (Two self-attested photocopies are to be submitted)
  xvi	Physical Fitness Certificate of Candidate (as per Annexure-VI ) (Original document and one self-attested photocopy)
  xvii	Anti-Ragging Affidavit by Candidate on a Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- as per format of Annexure-VII (Optional). Printout of online document is mandatory.
  xviii	Anti-Ragging by Parents in a Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- as per format of Annexure-VIII (Optional). Printout of online document is mandatory.
  xix	3 copies of a recent passport sized colour photograph.
  xx	WBJEE Yes/No Up-gradation form, if any.
  xxi	Affidavit (Rs. 10/- stamp paper) as per format of Annexure-IX Original document.
  xxii	Income Certificate (for FY 2025-26) for TFW-allotted candidates as per WBJEE-2026 Information Brochure format (Annexure-X ). Original document The student must be domiciled in West Bengal, and his/her total annual Family Income from all sources must be less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs as per Appendix-4 of WBJEE-2026 Information Bulletin page no. 32.

• Payment of Fees (for 1st Semester admissions):
  • Only after successful verification of all documents, an admission / registration fee of Rs. 39,095/- (Rs. 34,703/- for TFW Allotted Candidates) is to be paid for admission. Fee Structure for B. Tech program of 4 years duration is enclosed as Annexure-XI .
    (Other fees, if any as per the Institute/affiliating University, will be collected after your admission)
  • The payment can be made through GKCIET payment link from GKCIET official website https://www.gkciet.ac.in . It may also be paid through QR code available in the academic office.
  • Other fees, if any as per the Institute/affiliating University, will be collected after your admission, and your seat acceptance fee paid to WBJEEB will be refunded as and when WBJEEB sends it to us.
  Student must keep receipt of online transfer/transaction along with the UTR No. and Transaction ID whichever available or both. Respective UTR No. and Transaction ID of your payment are to be provided to the Academic Office through the following Google link. https://forms.gle/8ovgBMdmzFb4uDsQ7
• Confirmation of your provisional admission (B.Tech. in the A. Y. of 2026-27)
  After receiving the receipt, UTR No. and Transaction ID of your online payment, concerned officers/Finance Section will check respective payment status. On successful payment, concerned officers will confirm your provisional admission in B. Tech program of this Institute.
• Submission of hard copies of necessary documents
  Submit hard copy of the application with all originals as per Sl. No. 1 (i, v, xii, xvi, xvii, xviii, xix, xxi, xxiii) and self-attested copies for other necessary documents as per the section (1) physically in the office/Academic Section of our Institute during admission/counselling. Additional documents as per the affiliating University may be required before registration under the affiliating University. Your final admission will be confirmed only after receiving all of the necessary/required documents by the Institute / affiliating University.
• Hostel Facility
  The Institute at its own discretion may allocate hostel rooms to the students. An amount of Rs. 6,000/- per semester per student (mess charges extra) will be collected as room rent. Students who wish to avail of the hostel facility, may submit applications to the hostel counter during the admission/counselling.
• Cancellation of admission and refund rules
  Cancellation of admission is possible only prior to the last date of admission declared by GKCIET. The process of cancellation of admission will be initiated only after the submission of hardcopy application by the student. For any possible refunds, suitable notice will be uploaded on the Institutewebsite in due course oftime, after receipt of‘partial admission fee’/ ’seatbooking fee’ from the counselling agencies.
