Application to Ph.D. Programme in Humanities & Social Sciences (Session 2024-2025)
Under Midnapore College Research Centre (Humanities & Social Sciences)

Applications are invited online (link will be available from College website) from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. Programme in Humanities & Social Sciences (Bengali (5), English (6), Geography (3), History (3), Education(2) ) for the Session 2024-2025 in Midnapore College Research Centre ( H&SS). After successful completion of all the steps (filling in the personal details, academic details, uploading photo and signature) the candidate will have to pay Rs. 500/- only (plus convenience fee & GST, if applicable) as application fee for the Ph.D. programme through online mode of payment (credit/ debit card, net banking etc.) only. The candidates are asked to follow the admission Schedule for the same as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate having Master Degree or a Degree deemed equivalent from any University or Institutions recognized by UGC or Such other Degree may be considered as sufficient condition if (s)he has obtained at least 55% (General Category), 50% ( SC, ST, PH, OBC categories) marks. Provided that

• a)
  A candidate who has completed at least a total of 5 years in UG and PG study in a recognized Institutions or University.
• b)
  The candidate who is not currently admitted as a student in any full-time course of studies or registered for doing Ph.D. in any University.
• c)
  Candidates who are qualified at the NET/ GATE/ SET/ UGC (JRF)/ CSIR (JRF) / M. Tech or any other equivalent examinations.
• d)
  No written Admission Test/ RET will be held, only the eligible candidates with having NET/ GATE/ SET/ UGC (JRF)/ CSIR (JRF) / M. Tech or any other equivalent examinations will be called for interview.
• e)
  Interview will be held at Vidyasagar University Campus.
