IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
During Application, in the Select Programme/s, select Bachelor (Under-Graduate Programmes) at the Programme Level and select Bachelor of Education(B.Ed) in the Programme.

Eligibility: (As per NCTE norms)
A candidate may be allowed to appear in the GUBEDCET-2025 provided that he/she has passed the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. or M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. or equivalent degree programme from a recognised Board/University with at least 50% marks (or 45% marks SC/ST/OBC/PWD).

Eligibility criteria will be verified by the respective colleges/institution before admission. A candidate can't claim a seat without fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NCTE though his/her name appears in the merit list prepared by Gauhati University. College/Institution will be responsible for such anomalies detected later on.

Section-A General English (Vocabulary, Tense, Voice, Narration, Prepositions, Correction of sentences & Comprehension) 100 Marks
Section-B General Knowledge ( Indian History, Indian Polity, General Science, Current affairs) 120 Marks
Section-C Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability 80 Marks
Section-D Current Indian Education ( Issues and Policies), National Policy of Education 2020, Universalization of Elementary Education- Right to Education, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Secondary EducationRastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) 60 Marks
Section-E 40 Marks  
Cut off marks will be 80 (for unserved category) and 60 (for reserved category) candidates.
Test Centres
Candidates will be able to appear in any one of the following GUBEDCET-2025 Centres and the same shall have to be indicated while filling up the online form. A candidate has to select any three examination centres.

A candidate will be assigned in any one of the following Centres based on the feasibility of a particular centre.

Cut off marks will be 80 (for unserved category) and 60 (for reserved category) candidates.

Other Details of GUBEDCET-2025:

  • All questions will be of MCQ type with four alternative choices of which only one answer will be the correct option.
  • The test Booklet and the OMR will be in English. The test will be OMR based.
  • For every right answer, 4 marks will be awarded and for every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted. There will no marking for un-attempted questions.
  • Merit list will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in GUBEDCET-2025. In case of a tie. i.e. when two or more candidates obtain equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be decided as follows:
    • Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
    • Resolution by number of unanswered questions. Candidate with less number of unanswered questions will be given better rank.
    • If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates with higher age will be given better rank.
  • Reservation and relaxation policy will be as per existing GU rules.
  • Eligibility criteria will be verified by the respective colleges/institution before admission. A candidate can't claim a seat without fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NCTE though his/her name appears in the merit list prepared by Gauhati University. College/Institution will be responsible for such anomalies detected later on.
  • Application and Entrance Examination Fee: Rs. 2000 + Bank Transaction Charge, if any.
  • Anything not covered by this guideline will be decided by the University authority at appropriate level.
