The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE)—2026 Stage 1 for admission to various Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes for the Academic Session 2026–27 on 08 February 2026 (Sunday) at 129 centres across 97 cities in India, in Hindi and English mediums, in Computer Based Test (CBT) and Paper Based Test (PBT) modes, as applicable, and the result of Stage–1 was declared on 20 March 2026.

Shortlisting for Stage–2 was done on the basis of candidates’ performance in Stage–1 and in accordance with the approved category-wise seat matrix and shortlisting criteria laid down by NIFT, wherein candidates have been shortlisted in the ratio of 1:4 (one seat to four candidates), category-wise, subject to applicable conditions for PwD candidates.

In this regard, the details of Stage–2 are as follows:

1. Stage–2 for PG Programmes (Personal Interviews)

The Personal Interviews for PG programmes, namely M.Des., M.F.M., and M.F.Tech., will be conducted from 06 April to 11 April 2026 at New Delhi only. All shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the Personal Interview at the designated venue in New Delhi as per the date, time, and reporting instructions mentioned in their Interview Call Letter. No request for change of date or venue shall be entertained.

2. Stage–2 for UG Programmes

1. For Bachelor of Design (B.Des.), a Situation Test will be conducted in designated cities across Bharat to assess the candidate’s ability in model construction, material handling, creativity, and innovation.
2. For B.Des. (NLEA) candidates, the Studio Test and Personal Interview will be conducted on the same day at the designated Test Centre.
3. For candidates under B.Des. (Artisans) category, the Artisan Skill Test and Personal Interview will also be conducted on the same day at the designated Test Centre.
4. For B.F.Tech. (NLEA) candidates, a Technical Ability Test (TAT) in paper-based (OMR) format along with Personal Interview will be conducted on the same day as per schedule.

The Stage–2 Examination for UG programmes will be conducted in approximately 20 cities across the country. The details regarding the date of examination of Stage 2 for UG Programmes, city of examination, centre, reporting time, and other instructions will be mentioned in the respective Admit Cards, which will be issued in due course.
