* By appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination, it is meant that the Board concerned declared the result for that year irrespective of whether or not examination was conducted. It will be considered as an appearance even if the result of a particular candidate got withheld.

However, if the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2024-25 on or after September 30, 2025, then the candidates of that Board who appeared for their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2025 are also eligible to appear in UCEED 2027, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria. In case the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2024-25 before September 30, 2025 but the result of a particular candidate was withheld for whatever reason, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in UCEED 2027.

  • In case the Class XII examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have already passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination before appearing for UCEED.
  • A Diploma recognized by the All-India Council for Technical Education (www.aicte-india.org ) or a State Board of Technical Education of at least THREE years duration. The following rules will govern the joint seat allotment:
  • If the selected candidates DO NOT remit the seat acceptance fee before the deadline or DECLINE the admission, their application will stand CANCELLED.
    - They will NOT be considered for the subsequent round of seat allotment
    - These vacant seats will be offered to other eligible candidates to be filled up during the subsequent rounds (if any) of seat allotment.
  • If applicants are allotted their FIRST choice of institute, they can either ACCEPT (‘freeze’) the offer or DECLINE it. If they choose to DECLINE the offer, they will NOT be considered for subsequent rounds, and their current seat allocation shall be CANCELLED. This seat will be filled during the subsequent rounds (if any) of allotment.
  • Suppose applicants are allotted their SECOND/THIRD/FOURTH/FIFTH /SIXTH/SEVENTH choice of institute. In that case, they can opt to either ACCEPT (‘freeze’) the choice or ACCEPT WITH THE OPTION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR UPWARD MOVEMENT (‘float’) the choice for subsequent rounds (if any) of the joint seat allocation.
    - If the candidates choose the ‘freeze’ option, it means they have ACCEPTED the offer and do not wish to participate in further rounds of seat allocation. Such candidates will NOT be considered in subsequent round(s) of seat allocation.
    - If the candidates choose the ‘float’ option, it means they have ACCEPTED the offer and have indicated that, if admission to an institute of their higher preference is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue with the currently accepted institute. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent round(s) of seat allocation.
    - For candidates who choose the ‘float’ option, allocation of a seat in an institute of their higher preference in a subsequent round would AUTOMATICALLY result in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by them in the earlier round.
  • In cases of ACCEPT/FLOAT/FREEZE, the candidates must pay the complete amount of the seat acceptance fee mentioned in the provisional seat allotment letter. Failure to make the payment will result in the cancellation of their allotted seat, and they will not be considered in any further rounds (if any) of seat allocation.
  • Candidates offered seats have to remit the seat acceptance fee only ONCE. Thus, candidates allotted another seat (because they chose the ‘float’ option) need not pay the seat acceptance fee again. Candidates must exercise extreme caution and avoid being tricked by fraudsters who contact them regarding rank allotment and admissions. Please follow information provided on the UCEED website (www.uceed.iitb.ac.in ) only.
  • For candidates who accept the offered seat, the seat acceptance fee will be adjusted against the admitting institute’s fees at the time of joining. For candidates who decline the offered seat after remitting the seat acceptance fee, the refund of the seat acceptance fee will be governed by the policies of the admitting institute.
  • To avoid any last-minute unforeseen transaction issues, candidates are advised to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee for a round well before the end time/date of the corresponding round.
  • All candidates, who will pay the Seat Acceptance Fee, can withdraw their seat only during the prescribed withdrawal schedules. The refund is applicable till completion of round IV i.e. Wednesday, 7th July, 2027; 06:00 P.M. The refund will be Rs. 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand only) for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates, and Rs. 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only) for SC/ST/PwD candidates, after deducting the seat cancellation and processing charges of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only).
  • The option “FLOAT” will remain ACTIVE till the payment end date of Round-IV.
  • Candidates do not have an option to withdraw/decline an accepted/allotted seat after the announcement of the last round of seat allocation.
Note: The dates for the seat allotment rounds are tentative. The change in date(s) (if any) will be posted on the this website. Candidates are advised to visit the website from time to time.
To apply for admission to the B.Des programmes of the participating institutes, i.e., IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur, an applicant is required to fulfil ALL the following three criteria simultaneously.

  • Proof of having passed the qualifying examination with required eligibility is submitted by September 30, 2027 to the admitting institute.
If a qualifying Examination Board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing grade on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade and upload it along with the grade sheet. In case such a certificate is not provided, the decision taken by the UCI Committee will be final and binding.
