Ph.D Human Rights Eligibility Amended 2026

This is in continuation to Information Bulletin and Admission prospectus for admission in Ph.D. programmes 2026 uploaded on University Website.

In this connection, it is informed to all concerned that it has been decided with the approval of the Competent Authority to make following amendments in the Annexure-A of Information Bulletin and Admission prospectus for admission in Ph.D. programmes 2026.

Ph.D. (Human Rights) Paper Code: UGC-NET (subject code-92) Candidates for admissions to Ph.D. programme shall have a Master's Degree in Law, Human Rights and Duties, Gender Studies, or a closely related field Human Rights, Social Work, Political Science, or International Relations (as mentioned in the eligibility qualification in the UGC NET under subject code 92) with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade "B" in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in the point scale wherever grading system is followed). A relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy Layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates in their respective categories as per the decision of the commission from time to time, or for those who have obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace marks procedures.
