Admission to 2-Year (Four Semesters) Master Degree Courses (Open Quota) (Session: 2026-2027)

Online applications are invited from the interested candidates who have passed their 3 years Bachelor degree (with Honours / Major) not before 2025 or appeared in 2026, or finished 3 years of a 4-yr Bachelor degree (with Honours / Major) for admission into following two-year (four semesters) full time Postgraduate Master of Science (MSc) Courses for the session 2026-2027. Only completed online application will be considered. Application form will be available online from 23rd June, 2026 to 5th July, 2026 at http://14.139.217.88 . The application fee will be Rs. 500/- per subject. Reservation policy will be followed as per Govt. rule. Incomplete application and application with invalid or wrong information is liable to be cancelled at any stage of admission.
The admission in Master degree courses for different categories will be based strictly on merit. The General Merit Rank (GMR) of individual candidate and General Merit List will be prepared based on the admission tests (details are given below) only.

Eligibility
  • There shall be no upper or lower age limit for admission.
  • Candidates must have passed a Bachelor's Degree with Honours/Major from any recognised University/Institute in or after the year 2025.
  • Candidates who have appeared in the final semester examination of a Bachelor's Degree with Honours/Major from any recognised University/Institute in 2026 and are awaiting publication of their results are also eligible to apply, provided that their results are declared on or before 31st August, 2026.
  • The candidate must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in major subjects (Major or core courses and DSE or Honours) as per the table mentioned below in the B.Sc. examination for admission.

  • Candidates must fulfil the following Academic criteria as given below:
    2 year (4 semester) M.Sc. courses at the School of Astrophysics
    The candidate must have successfully completed 3-years B.Sc. (Honours in the CBCS framework) or 3 years B.Sc. with a minimum of 120 credits/4-year B.Sc. with Honours or 4-year B.Sc. Honours with Research with a minimum of 160 credits from any recognized University (not before 2025). The minimum credit for the major subject (Physics/Astrophysics) should be at least 50% of the total credit obtained after three or four years.

    2 year (4 semester) M.Sc. courses at the Institute of Health Sciences, Presidency University
    Candidates can apply for the following paper for admission to the respective coursesBiotechnology/Virology and Immunology*

    * This combination will be considered as single choice for the application and entrance test. During counselling, the eligible candidates will be allowed to select only one M.Sc. course for their study.

    Eligibility criteria for admission:
    • The candidate must have successfully completed 3-years B.Sc. (Honours) or 3 years B.Sc. with a minimum of 120 credits/4-year B.Sc. with Honours or 4-year B.Sc. Honours with Research with a minimum of 160 credits from any recognized University (not before 2025).
    • The candidate must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in major subjects (Major or core courses or Honours) as per the below mentioned table in the B.Sc. examination for admission.
Procedure for submission of application Form
The application has to be made ONLINE only through the University website https://presiuniv.ac.in/web/admission.php .

Candidates need to have a working mobile number and an email ID. All future communications by the University will be sent to this mobile number and the email ID only.

Points to remember during form fill-up
  • Enter your own email address and phone number
  • Verify the data and selection of course(s) before final submission (Apply button). Data can be verified and modified several times. So, take your time to verify data before final submission. You can login any number of times to modify data. After final submission, data / information cannot be modified, under any circumstances.
  • Wrong/incorrect data may lead to cancellation of application as well as admission. No fee will be refunded if the admission is cancelled due to wrong data / information.
  • Candidate must upload their
    (i) a recent and clear photo
    (ii) full signature and
    (iii) other relevant documents as per the requirement at the time of applying.
  • Do not put random/incorrect values in optional fields which are not applicable for you.
  • Any wrong information provided will lead to the cancellation of the candidature at any stage of admission process.
  • Application fee is to be paid to complete the application procedure.

Procedure for Selection and Admission Test
Admission Test Score (ATS) will be considered for the preparation of General Merit Rank (GMR) for individual applicants.
Candidates who will satisfy the eligibility criteria as defined in section 2 and will Score more than 0 in the Admission Test will be considered during preparation of General Merit Lists for Applied subjects.
Admission Test will be held on July 18, 2026.
Duration of each test will be two hours.

  • The venue for the admission tests will be 1st campus of Presidency University i.e. 86/1 College Street, Kolkata 700073.
  • All candidates must report to this campus at least one hour before the commencement of the examination.
  • The question paper will be in English only.
  • Questions will have one correct answer.
  • Marking Scheme for Admission Test
    a) 2 Marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
    b) 0.5 Marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
    c) No Marks will be awarded for non-attempted questions or wrong questions or questions declared invalid or ambiguous by the University.
Procedure for Preparation of General Merit List
Admission Test Score (ATS) will be considered for the preparation of General Merit Rank (GMR) for individual applicants for all subjects.

Candidates who will satisfy the eligibility criteria and will score more than 0 in the Admission Test will be considered during preparation of General Merit Lists for all subjects.

Note:
Overall CGPA /The Aggregate Marks at Graduation level is to be calculated considering all courses of study in Graduation level including Compulsory Courses, Major/Honours Courses, GE/Pass courses. Overall CGPA is to be considered as equivalent to Aggregate Marks at Graduation level.
