Notification for Ph.D. admission in Autumn 2026 in the Dept. of E.C.E. under the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme, Phase-II

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Academic Year 2026-27

Applications in prescribed format are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme on Part-time basis for the Autumn Semester 2026 in the following Department of the University under the ‘Visvesvaraya PhD scheme, Phase-II’ supported by MeitY, Govt. of India:

Electronics and Communication Engineering	M.E./M.Tech. in electronics/ Bio-electronics or allied specialization or/M.Sc. in Electronics/Physics. OR B.E. / B.Tech. in electronics or allied branch with 75% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA with a valid GATE Score. Minimum two recommendation letters from the institute/ university from where B.E./B.Tech. degree was obtained.	01	Instrumentation, Automation and Robotics

The major features of the scheme for the part-time scholars are given below:

Fellowship: The Part-Time Ph.D. candidate is eligible to receive one time incentive of Rs. 3.00 Lakhs (Rupees Three Lakhs only), as per the terms and conditions of the 'Visvesvaraya Ph.D. scheme, Phase- II' supported by MeitY, Govt. of India. The fellowship shall be remitted to his/her bank account, on successful completion of Ph.D. degree and required formalities with the institution and PhD Cell regarding the scheme; such as submission of requisite completion documents, claims, etc. through the institution to DIC.
