Online Applications are invited from the intending eligible candidates for appearing in the Dibrugarh University Admission Test (DUAT), 2026 for lateral entry to the Fourth Year (7th Semester) of Five Year Integrated Post Graduate Programme (FYIPGP) and/or admission to the 2-year Post Graduate Prngramme in the following subjects:

Bachelor’s Degree with Major/Honours in the concerned subject securing at least 45% marks or equivalent grade point.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate in case of the candidates of General Programme or equivalent grade point.
4 Master of Commerce (M.Com.):
Finance and Marketing
Bachelor’s Degree with Major/Honours in the concerned subject securing at least 45% marks or equivalent grade point.

Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate in case of the candidates of General Programme or equivalent grade point.
5 M.Sc. in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Candidates with a Bachelor degree from a recognized University/Institution in Biological Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Veterinary Sciences / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Medical Sciences with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade point.

6 M.A. in Mass Communication Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 45% in Major/Honours or aggregate or equivalent grade point.

7 M.A. in Women’s Studies Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 45% in Major/Honours or aggregate or equivalent grade point.

8 M.A. in Applied Psychology Candidates having Bachelor’s degree (excluding Fine Arts), including a Medical degree, and other Technical Graduates from Dibrugarh University or any other University recognized by the UGC with at least 45% marks in Major/Honours or 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade point.

9 M.Ed. (recognized by NCTE) Obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the following programmes:

10 Master of Computer Application (MCA)
(1*+2 year Post Graduate Programme)

*For students having no Mathematics background one (01) year bridge course will be compulsory.
Passed BCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science) / B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. (CSE) / B.Tech. (CSE) / B.E. (IT) / B.Tech. (IT) or equivalent Degree.
OR
Passed any Graduation Degree (e.g.: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. / B.Voc. etc.,) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level, securing at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category).
OR
Sucessfully completed 6th Semester of FYUG/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020
11 Master in Travel and Tourism Management (MTTM) Graduate (any branch / subject) except Fine Arts and Music of minimum three years duration from a recognized University / Institute, securing at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) in Major / aggregate.

Successfully completed 6th Semester of FYUG/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020
Important Note:
Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the 6th Semester Examination of the FYUGP/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020 in 2026 and are awaiting their results are also eligible to appear in DUAT 2026. However, such candidates must submit their final grade sheet/mark sheet within the stipulated deadline to be notified by the University.

Nature of DUAT-2026
  • The DUAT 2026 is conducted by the Dibrugarh University Admission Test (DUAT) Board, Dibrugarh University.
  • The DUAT 2026 shall be conducted for all candidates for the academic programmes mentioned below irrespective of the University they have passed the qualifying examination. The Programmes are-
    • Lateral entry to Fourth Year (7th Semester) of FYIPGP: Anthropology, Assamese, Economics, Education, English, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics, Applied Geology, Chemistry, Geography, Life Sciences (Botany), Life Sciences (Zoology), Physics, Finance and Marketing.
    • 2-Year M.A. in: Anthropology, Applied Psychology, Assamese, Bodo, Economics, History, Sociology, Statistics, Geography, Education, English, Mathematics, Political Science, Philosophy, Mass Communication, Women's Studies.
    • 2-Year M.Sc. in: Anthropology, Applied Geology, Life Sciences (Zoology), Life Sciences (Botany), Physics, Statistics, Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.
    • 2-Year M.Com. in: (i) Finance and (ii) Marketing
    • M.Ed.
    • M.C.A.
    • M.T.T.M.
  • The DUAT shall be of 100 Marks (Except for Mathematics subject) and of 2 (two) hours duration.
  • It shall be conducted in a single paper of the concerned subject containing 100 Objective Type Multiple Choice questions (MCQ) carrying 1 (one) mark each.
  • The Question Paper shall be in English excluding the language subjects.
  • There shall be a provision of negative marking of 0.25 (point two five) mark for incorrect response to a question.
  • For Mathematics subject, DUAT shall be of 150 marks of 2 (two) hours duration containing 75 Objective Type Multiple Choice questions (MCQ) carrying 2 (two) mark each. There shall be a provision of negative marking of 0.5 (point five) mark for incorrect response to a question in Mathematics.
  • The candidate shall be required to appear the DUAT in the OMR Sheet and the evaluation process shall be done by the automated electronically operated system.
  • The DUAT score shall be valid for admission in the current Academic Session 2026-27 only.

How to Apply for DUAT 2026
  • A Candidate is eligible to appear in the DUAT 2026 in maximum 4 (four) subjects. Moreover, they should not apply in more than 1 (one) subject from the same Shift as given below-
    • Shift 1: Anthropology, Applied Geology, Chemistry, Education, English, History, Mathematics
    • Shift 2: Assamese, Bodo, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Philosophy, Political Science, M.T.T.M.
    • Shift 3: Applied Psychology, Economics, Geography, Life Sciences (Botany), Life Sciences (Zoology), M.Ed., Physics, Statistics
    • Shift 4: Finance, Marketing, Mass Communication, M.C.A., Sociology, Women's Studies
  • Application for appearing in the DUAT 2026 shall be through online mode only. No other means of application shall be accepted.
  • Online Registration for submission of Application Form will begin from 07/05/2026. Application for DUAT 2026 is through online mode only. The last date for submission of application is 28/05/2026 (till 11:55 P.M.).
  • For submission of the Online Application Form, intending candidates are advised to follow the following instructions:
    • The candidate shall be required to visit the DUAT 2026 Portal in the website- www.dibru.ac.in.
    • The Candidate needs to register on the portal by clicking the “Register” button and providing his/her name, mobile number and a password. The mobile number will be verified through an OTP. Please remember the password for login.
    • After successful registration, the candidate needs to login using his/her mobile number and the password.
  • After login, the candidate needs to click on the "Apply" button corresponding to the "DUAT 2026" link. Thereafter, the candidate must carefully select the Programme for which he/she intends to apply for admission and then complete the application form step by step.
  • After filling-up the Form, Candidate needs to click the button “Submit and Review”. A preview of the filled-up form will be displayed. Candidates are advised to carefully cross-check the information and if anything needs to be corrected at this stage, they can go back and edit.
  • After ensuring that all the information displayed on the Preview is correct, the candidate needs to click ‘Pay now & Submit the application’ and the pay the application fee of Rs. 1,050/- (Rupees One Thousand fifty) only through online mode (Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking).
  • The application form will be considered finally submitted only when the application fee is successfully paid by the candidate and an online receipt is generated confirming the payment.
  • There will be a button to download your Application Form for future reference.
  • Admit Cards will be generated only a few days prior to the date of the Test. Once generated, candidates will be able to download their Admit Cards from the same portal by logging in with their credentials. A notification regarding the generation and availability of Admit Cards on the portal will be published on the Dibrugarh University website.
  • The Candidate shall have to take a print out of the Admit Card and bring the same to the Examination Hall on the Date of the Test for verification.
  • The Submission of Online Application Forms shall be automatically closed after the last date.
Important Note:
  • The University shall not verify the eligibility of a candidate at the time of receiving their Application Forms and Issuing Admit Cards to them.
  • The candidates not fulfilling the minimum eligibility may appear in the DUAT 2026.
  • However, their candidature shall not be considered at the time of admission to the concerned Programmes offered by Dibrugarh University.
Selection Procedure
  • For all candidates, appearing in DUAT 2026 is mandatory.
  • Candidates need to apply separately for admission through SAMARTH portal with valid DUAT score.
  • Admission to the relevant programmes at Dibrugarh University shall be granted in descending order of DUAT 2026 scores, in accordance with the candidates’ stated preferences.
  • As the Selection of Eligible Candidates for admission to the Post Graduate Programmes shall be done only on the basis the DUAT 2026, the selection and admission shall be purely provisional and subject to production of relevant documents of passing the qualifying examinations with requisite norms before the concerned Department / Centre for Studies / College where he/she has taken admission. An Undertaking shall also be taken from the admitted students in this regard.
  • Statutory Reservation and Relaxation Policy shall be followed as per the Government Rules by the University while preparing the Merit List of the Candidates.
  • The Dibrugarh University Reservation and Relaxation Rules shall be applicable in selecting the eligible candidates under different non-statutory reservation categories.

Admission Procedure and Schedule
  • For Admission to all the programmes, Candidates need to apply separately through SAMARTH portal with valid DUAT score.
  • Admissions to all Departments/ Centres of Studies shall be held separately. The Schedule and Procedure for admission shall be notified in the website: www.dibru.ac.in along with the List of the Provisionally Selected Candidates prepared by the Admission Committee of the Department/ Centre of Studies concerned.
  • The admission and other fees to be paid at the time of admission shall be received through online payment system. The University shall guide the candidates for payment of their fees.
