Indian Philosophy, etc.

Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (called RKMVERI hereinafter) is launching a unique Yoga programme with the following description: Integrated 5-year (4 yrs. B.Sc.Hons.+ 1 yr. M.Sc.) & (4 yrs. B.A.Hons.+ 1 yr. M.A.) in Yoga (theory and practice) from the academic year 2026-2027.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Only male candidates will be admitted owing to lack of infrastructure for female candidates at present.
• It is a fully residential programme in order to make it intensive and effective. Hostel accommodation will be provided—see details below.
• Only limited seats (10-15) available.
• Candidates should have secured minimum 60% aggregate (calculated on the basis of Madhyamik, Class 10 exam + WB Higher Secondary or equivalent Plus Two exam of a recognized Board/Council added together). Those with slightly lower percentage of marks may also apply and will be considered for admission depending on the availability of seats.
• Candidates from any stream at the higher secondary level (plus two) (science or arts or any other) may apply. However, those coming from the science stream at the higher secondary level (plus two) will be admitted to the Integrated 5-year (B.Sc.Hons.+M.Sc.), while others from any other stream will be admitted to the Integrated 5-year (B.A.Hons.+M.A.). The decision of the RKMVERI authority is final in this matter.
• While we prefer fresh candidates who have passed their Higher Secondary / Plus Two examination in 2026, those who have passed plus-two examination in 2025 can also apply.
• Lateral entry/exit at any point as per NEP 2020 guidelines will be allowed.

• 10th (Madhyamik) and 11th marksheet (those who are appearing in plus-two exam in 2026). Those who completed plus-two examination in 2025 may please upload higher secondary/plus two examination marksheet.
• Admit card of 10th / Madhyamik examination as proof of age.
• Photograph (passport size).
• Extracurricular accolade (award or certificate on yoga/sports distinction/prizes, etc.

Fees:
Fees for the Integrated 5-year (4 yrs. B.Sc. Hons. + 1 yr. M.Sc.) & (4 yrs. B.A. Hons. + 1 yr. M.A.) in Yoga programme:
For the first four years (B.Sc./B.A. Hons.): Rs. 9,000/- (nine thousand only) per semester (inclusive of hostel room rent and mess charges for food)
For the last one year (M.Sc./M.A. Hons.): Rs. 10,000/- (ten thousand only) per semester (inclusive of hostel room rent and mess charges for food)

Note: All the students are eligible for getting the State Govt. scholarships and the University will facilitate this process. Scholarships thus received will be retained by the University in lieu of the huge subsidy that is being given to them towards course fees and hostel-mess charges.
