Admission to Ph.D. Programme in Mathematics for academic year 2026-2027

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. in Mathematics programme at the Belur Campus for the academic year 2026-2027.

Broad areas of specialization:

• Nonlinear Dynamics & Applications in Biological Systems
• Harmonic Analysis
• Algebra
• Number Theory
• Topology

• M.Sc. in Mathematics Students who have secured 60% or more till the end of their penultimate year of masters’ level studies may appear.
• Applicants must also satisfy at least one of the following two conditions:
  - Qualified for National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) Junior Research Fellowship
  - Qualified for CSIR/UGC-NET Junior Research Fellowship
• A candidate with an M.Sc. degree in mathematics from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 can also apply provided he/she is qualified for the INSPIRE Fellowship.
