Safeguarding the admission prospects of CBSE Class XII students seeking admission to
Higher Education for the Academic Session 2026-27
A number of CBSE Class XII students have applied for post-result services, including verification of marks, obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer books, and re-evaluation of answer scripts. Consequently, the outcome of these requests may be declared after the completion of the ongoing admission process in certain Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
In order to safeguard the admission prospects of such students, all AICTE-approved Institutions/Universities and State/UT Admission Authorities are advised, wherever feasible and in accordance with the applicable admission regulations, to provide suitable flexibility in the submission of the final Class XII-mark sheet. Wherever appropriate, such candidates may be permitted to participate provisionally in the admission process, subject to submission of the final qualifying examination mark sheet and other requisite documents within the timeline prescribed by the respective institution or admission authority.
Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Admission Authorities are further requested to ensure that eligible students are not deprived of admission opportunities solely due to delays in the CBSE post-result process, while maintaining fairness, transparency, and compliance with the applicable statutory and regulatory provisions.
All concerned are requested to take necessary action accordingly and give wide publicity to this advisory.
