Applications are invited for admission to the Academic Year 2026-27 in the following 4-year programs through Olympiad:

* There are no separate seats reserved for reserved category candidates. Also, there are no female supernumerary seats for this mode of admission (i.e. through Olympiad channel).

Examination:
The computer-based test (CBT) examination for admission through this channel (Olympiad channel) will be conducted by IIT Kanpur.

Eligibility Criteria and Restrictions:

  • Criterion 1 – Age limit:
    Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001. Five years age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1996.
  • Criterion 2 – Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination:
    A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Criterion 3 – Olympiad Criterion
    The candidate should fulfil the eligibility criteria of the respective departments as detailed in Table No. 1.
  • Criterion 4 – Restrictions
    A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT under any academic program that is listed in JoSAA Business Rules of 2026, irrespective of whether the candidate continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting “online” / at a “reporting centre” in the past. Candidates whose admission to IITs was cancelled (for whatever reason) after joining any IIT are NOT eligible to get admission through Olympiads.

    In case, a candidate gets one seat allotted to him/her through JoSAA 2026 and gets another seat allotted to him/her through Olympiad channel, then he/she must withdraw from one of the seats by 13th July, 2026, 05:00 P.M. If the candidate does not withdraw from either of the seats allotted to him/her, then the supernumerary Olympiad seat allotted to the candidate will not be confirmed.

Registration Fee
Candidates must pay the registration fee, as mentioned in the following Table
Female Candidates (all categories) Rs. 1,600/-
SC, ST and PwD Candidates Rs. 1,600/-
All Other Candidates Rs. 3,200/-
The registration fee shown above DOES NOT INCLUDE service charges, processing fees, and any other charges that the payment gateway/banks may levy. Registration fee once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable. All candidates must reach the examination center (IIT Kanpur) at their own expense and must make their own arrangements to appear for the examination.
Question Papers and Syllabus
  • The Computer Based Test (CBT) will consist of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as detailed in the following Table-

  • Question paper pattern will be disclosed during the examination.
  • The syllabus of the examination will be the same as the syllabus of JEE (Advanced) 2026 (https://jeeadv.ac.in/documents/IBEnglish_2026_1.pdf ).

Last date of withdrawing one seat if a candidate gets one seat allotted to him/her through JoSAA 2026 and gets another seat allotted to him/her through the Olympiad channel 14 July, 2026 (05:00 PM)
The candidates are advised to visit the IIT Kanpur website for submission of their application. Changes in the date(s), if any, will ONLY be published on the official website (https://iitk.ac.in ). Candidates are therefore advised to visit the official website from time to time to check for updates.

  • Please do not try to fill the application form using the Mobile / Tablet it will not support completely with these devices.
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidate must be fill the following form and upload in the application upload document format available in link http://www.iitk.ac.in/doaa/admissions/EWS.pdf .
  • OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates should select their category as "OBC-NCL" and not "OBC" while filling the form. The candidates under the “OBC" category will be treated as General.
  • Please take utmost care while filling out the application. After the final submission of the application form, you will not be able to correct it.
