The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, through its Office of Outreach Activities, has announced the upcoming launch of admissions for the second cycle of its Online Postgraduate Programs. Building on the success of its inaugural cycle, IIT Kanpur is returning with an expanded and more diverse portfolio of programs designed for both working professionals and fresh graduates who are seeking flexible, world-class education from one of India’s premier institutions. This second cycle brings with it several exciting additions, making it one of the most comprehensive online postgraduate offerings from any IIT in India.

Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, or allied areas / Five-year M.Sc. in Science or allied areas / PG degrees (MCA/MA) in Science, Mathematics, or allied areas.
Department-conducted written test on basic mathematics.
Exceptions for IITK Online Entrance Test:
Professionals with over 5 years of relevant experience as defined by the concerned department (Till the commencement of the class).
Applicants with valid national-level test scores above the department- specified cut off.
Candidates nominated* by government / defense / other recognized organizations.
* Note: Nominated includes sponsored candidates
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Engineering (Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in other disciplines but with strong relevant construction experience may also be considered).
Minimum CPI 5.5 or 55% marks in the qualifying degree.
The candidates should have:
Over 5 years of relevant experience in the Construction industry (Till the commencement of the class).
OR
Qualified in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Exam
OR
Qualified in the IIT Kanpur’s online proctored entrance test
OR
Been nominated* by the government/defense/other recognized organizations.
The eligible candidates will be called for an Online Interview.
The candidates who qualify in the department-specific online interview will be offered admission to the program.

Institute Level Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum CPI 5.5 or 55% marks in the qualifying degree
Applicants may qualify via:
A valid score above department-stated cut-off in approved national level exams as applicable to the program discipline (GATE)
B.Tech./B.E.: Chemical, Electrical, Energy, Materials, Mechanical, Aerospace, and other appropriate branches.
OR M.Sc.: Chemistry, Physics (with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the undergraduate level)
Department-conducted written test on basic mathematics.
Exceptions for IITK Online Entrance Test:

Institute Level Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum CPI 5.5 or 55% marks in the qualifying degree
Applicants may qualify via:
A valid score above department-stated cut-off in approved national-level exams as applicable to the program discipline (GATE/JAM)
Mathematics at the 10+2 level or at least one mathematics course completed during undergraduate studies
Exceptions for IITK Online Entrance Test:
The following candidates are exempted from the IITK Online Entrance Test*:
Professionals with over 5 years of relevant experience as defined by the concerned department (Till the commencement of the class).
Applicants with valid national-level test scores above the department specified cutoff
Candidates nominated** by Government/Defense/other recognized organizations
* The department may conduct an interview/written examination only for those candidates who are exempted from taking the IITK online entrance test for admission in the PG online programs. ** Nominated includes sponsored candidates.
