The UID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a two-tier entrance exam for admission to the United World Institute of Design (UID). The exam assesses candidates' creative, analytical, and general abilities, and is divided into two phases: an online, AI-proctored Design Aptitude Test (Phase 1) and an on-campus Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation (Phase 2). Phase 1 includes tests for General IQ, Critical Analysis, and Creative Ability, while Phase 2 consists of a Situation Test and a Personal Interview and Portfolio evaluation.

Admission Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria for Application:
B. Design (Hons.) M. Design
10+2 pass/appearing (any stream) OR a 3 years Diploma (equivalent to 10+2) from any recognized higher secondary board/institute. 10+2+3/4 years degree OR 5 years Diploma (pass/appearing) in any stream from a recognized institution or university.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

General Category (Indian, NRI and Foreign Applicants) Clearance of a two-tier evaluation process and a minimum of 50% aggregate score in the last qualifying examination.

Tier 1: UID DAT (100 marks), scheduled in online mode on Sunday, 11th January, 2026 (AI-proctored online examination from home).

Tier 2:  I. Offline Mode: Situation Test (ST) and Portfolio Evaluation (PE) II. Online Mode: Portfolio Evaluation (PE) and Personal Interview (PI)
NRI/NRI Sponsored/Management/Foreign (All applicants unable to appear for the two-tier evaluation process under the General Category) (Opens in January 2026) Digital Portfolio Evaluation (Digital Submission and Evaluation of the portfolio) and a minimum of 50% aggregate score in the last qualifying examination.

Note:
All candidates who appear for Tier I, i.e., UID-DAT, will be eligible to appear for Tier II, i.e., the Situation Test (ST) and Portfolio Evaluation (PE).

The evaluation process and their weightage out of a total of 100 marks will be as below:
