Provisional interview list of eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. programme in Political Science

This is to notify that the University of Calcutta has published the Provisional Interview List of Eligible Candidates for Admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Political Science.

The interview for admission to the Ph.D. Programme will be held on the following dates:

• 19^th January, 2026
• 20^th January, 2026
• 21^st January, 2026
• 27^th January, 2026

Admit cards will be issued from the Department of Political Science, University of Calcutta, Alipore Campus to the eligible candidates from 13^th January (Tuesday), 2026 to 15^th January (Thursday), 2026 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., as per the schedule communicated to the candidates via email.

Candidates appearing for the interview are instructed to produce all relevant testimonials in original along with one set of photocopies, including:

• All mark sheets
• NET / SET / M.Phil. certificate(s), if applicable
• Proof of age
• Caste certificate (for reserved category candidates)
• Photo identity card
• One copy of a recent passport-size photograph
• Proof of payment (in original)

Candidates must also submit a Research Proposal (not exceeding 500 words and clearly indicating the area of research interest) on the same date.

No candidate will be allowed to appear for the interview without a valid Admit Card.
